About the Role

Luna invites a meticulous and analytically minded Revenue Accounting & Controls Manager to safeguard and optimize our financial foundations with rigor, precision, and purpose. This is a defining role for a hands-on financial professional who thrives on bringing structure to complexity—someone energized by untangling billing data, building robust internal controls, and ensuring independent, gold-standard oversight of our outsourced revenue cycle management.

This role is as much about strategic business partnering and operational excellence as it is about accounting precision. You will own the accuracy, completeness, and reporting of our healthcare services revenue and accounts receivable, serving as the critical bridge between finance, technology, and operations. The ideal candidate pairs a sharp technical mindset (US GAAP, SQL/NetSuite) with a collaborative spirit, partnering across teams to strengthen cash conversion and build scalable, audit-ready reporting.

You’ll join a mission-driven organization at a pivotal growth stage, where your work will directly shape our financial health, cash realization, and vendor accountability. If you are a CPA-qualified professional who loves diving deep into data, building high-standard internal controls, and driving real business impact, this is a rare opportunity to lead with both precision and purpose.

How You’ll Make an Impact: Drive Financial Accuracy & Reporting Integrity: You will own the full ledger accuracy, completeness, and financial reporting of healthcare services revenue and accounts receivable, driving a tight and reliable monthly close process.

Elevate Vendor Accountability & RCM Performance: Act as the independent, critical auditor of our outsourced revenue cycle management (RCM) partner. You’ll rigorously track contractual SLAs, payment posting accuracy, and claim timelines, ensuring performance remediation plan issues are driven to resolution.

Eliminate Revenue Leakage: Proactively investigate unbilled services, underpayments, claim denials, and reimbursement bottlenecks. You’ll transform complex billing datasets into actionable root-cause fixes, working hand-in-hand with operational and technology teams to boost cash conversion.

Scale Automation & Financial Controls: Identify integration gaps between RCM systems and NetSuite. You’ll design, build, and deploy automated reconciliation models, dashboards, and internal controls that drastically reduce manual intervention and enhance audit readiness

What You Bring: Proven Revenue & Healthcare Finance Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, backed by 7+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience specifically concentrated in healthcare revenue and complex AR controls .

Strong GAAP & Regulatory Knowledge: Technical expertise in US GAAP, ASC 606 (Revenue from Contracts with Customers), healthcare reimbursement frameworks, and insurance claim-level mechanics .

Advanced Systems & Analytical Chops: High-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern financial reporting tools . Experience utilizing NetSuite, Power BI, or querying data directly with SQL to parse complex billing databases is highly preferred .

Vendor Oversight & Audit Capabilities: Direct experience managing financial performance and SLA oversight for external vendors or outsourced providers .

The Accountant-as-Business-Partner Mindset: A proactive, hands-on style that doesn’t take billing data at face value. You are someone who enjoys building cross-functional bridges, challenging underlying data assumptions, and translating findings into operational and cash improvements .

Professional Credentials (Preferred): A CPA certification is highly preferred, as well as an outpatient healthcare or physical therapy industry background .

Why You’ll Love Working at Luna:

  • Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision) for you and your family on the first of the month following your start date.
  • Flexible PTO and paid holidays to recharge and care for what matters most.
  • 401(k) with company match to invest in your future.
  • Wellness benefits, paid life insurance, and more!
  • Remote-first flexibility with opportunities to connect in person at company gatherings.
  • A culture built on trust, purpose, and belonging—where every voice matters.
