Revision Village is an online learning platform used by 80% of the world's International Baccalaureate Diploma students and teachers. We pioneered study resources, assessment tools and a responsible AI toolkit that has helped students consistently improve their grades over the last 10 years.

AI has changed the pace, practices and requirements of software development over the last few years. As we continue to integrate them more systematically as part of our engineering workflows it’s become clear that better context, tools, and feedback produce compounding gains. Code production is no longer the blocker it used to be, so we are focused on refining systems around our engineering processes. We’re constantly aiming to reduce friction, improve points of failure and improve our ability to deliver features to our customers.

We move quickly and trust engineers to use their judgment. We raise problems early and examine issues without blame, looking for changes that make the next attempts better. We share what we learn and continually improve our code, tools, and ways of working so progress compounds across the team.

We’re looking for senior software engineers who are comfortable learning and improving their abilities in an increasingly AI-forward world. We want people who lean into experimentation and are willing to evolve our team's workflow around the rapidly changing engineering practices of today.

What you’ll be doing

  • Continuously improve and modernize how we practice engineering in an AI based development context. Update processes and safeguards that are creating friction to measurably improve our delivery speed while maintaining quality standards.

  • Build and maintain observability infrastructure that can keep up with our rapidly increasing development pace. Ensure we can have confidence in the rapid changes made to the platform.

  • Create positive flywheels by improving the information, tools, and feedback available to our engineers and AI coding agents so each cycle of work improves the next.

  • Explore new engineering practices and tools, assess their impact, and help the team adopt what works.

  • Work with the rest of the organization to get security certifications we require to continue to operate in different jurisdictions

What success looks like

  • You’ve established a shared view of the biggest constraints in the development cycle based on an agreed set of metrics

  • You’ve worked with the team to improve delivery lead time, and time to diagnose production problems so that we can continue to get high quality features to users faster.

  • You can point to concrete examples of monitoring, tooling, agent instructions or process changes that have created meaningful gains in our engineering practices.

  • You have experimented with a lot of different approaches to engineering in the modern era and brought these practices into the teams standard daily workflows

  • You have improved our ability to get clear signals on production issues, helping teams and AI agents find and address these problems sooner.

What you bring

  • Strong software engineering experience in TypeScript, NodeJs and Terraform.

  • Experience improving CI/CD, testing, and delivery workflows in a production system.

  • Familiarity with AWS, Docker, and Buildkite or comparable tools.

  • Experience designing observability that helps teams answer what failed, whom it affected, and why.

  • Practical experience with AI coding agents: providing context, setting safe permissions, evaluating their output, and improving their effectiveness.

  • The ability to lead cross-team process improvements through code, measurement, clear communication, and sound engineering judgment.
