TL;DR — The best places to find remote customer support jobs in 2026 are Support Driven's weekly job roundup, the support categories on We Work Remotely, Remotive, Working Nomads and Himalayas, and FlexJobs if you are willing to pay for a screened list. Check the hours and the hiring country before you apply, and walk away from any support job that asks you to pay for anything.
What matters on a support job board
A support posting hides its real terms in three places: the schedule, the channel and the hiring country. A live-chat role covering US mornings is a different job from an email queue you can work at any hour, even when both are called Customer Support Specialist. Good boards put the hiring country on every listing; good postings also state the hours.
Legitimacy matters more here than in most fields. Support roles are easy to fake: the title is familiar, the work sounds possible for a beginner, and the whole hiring process can happen online. How each board handles that is part of the comparison. For the wider picture of the field, including the skills teams hire for, see our guide to remote customer service jobs.

Board by board
Support Driven
Support Driven is a community for people who treat customer support as a career, and it says more than 30,000 support professionals have joined. For job seekers, the useful part is its weekly job roundup of remote and on-site roles, shared by community members or vetted by its team. The September 7, 2026 roundup, for example, listed roles with their location and pay, from remote technical support in the US and the UK to on-site management jobs. Expect fewer roles than on a general board, chosen by people who work in support.
We Work Remotely
We Work Remotely has a dedicated customer support category and lists only remote jobs. Every listing carries a hiring-region label, and in this category you will find both "Anywhere in the World" roles and US-only ones. Applying is free.
Remotive
Remotive's remote customer service page tags each listing with where it hires: USA, Worldwide, or specific countries such as the Philippines, Brazil or South Africa. Part of the board is free to browse, and a paid membership unlocks the rest, with prices that vary by plan and country.
Working Nomads
Working Nomads splits the field into Customer Service, Customer Success and Customer Experience categories, which helps if you know which side of support you want. The public board is free. Premium costs $17.95 a month, $39.95 a quarter or $79.95 a year and adds many more postings, advanced filters and personalized alerts.
Himalayas
Himalayas labels each listing with its country restriction, such as "US only" or "India only", and lets you filter by seniority, including entry level. The board is free; Himalayas Plus, a paid tier, adds AI tools for tailored resumes, cover letters and interview practice.
FlexJobs
FlexJobs is the paid option. A subscription is required to see employers, read full job details or apply, with plans that run from a short trial to annual billing — check its pricing page for current rates. In return, FlexJobs says its research team hand-screens every job and company before posting. That is a reasonable trade if checking listings for scams is what costs you time; if it is not, the free boards above list remote support roles too.
If you would rather not check six boards, RemoteHunt pulls remote jobs from 20+ sources and company career pages, refreshed every two hours, scores each one 0-100 against your resume, and shows where each employer says it can hire. For the general remote boards across all fields, see our comparison of remote job boards.
Shifts and time zones: the terms behind "remote"
Remote support is rarely work-whenever-you-like. Chat and phone queues need someone online when customers are, so many roles come with fixed hours, rotating shifts or weekend coverage, while email and ticket queues are usually more flexible. Our explainer on time zone overlap covers how teams set these windows.
Read every support posting for four things:
- The time zone of the hours. "9 to 5 Eastern" runs from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. in India while the US is on daylight time.
- Fixed or rotating. Rotating shifts can move your sleep schedule every few weeks; fixed shifts let you plan.
- Weekends and holidays. Ask whose public holidays the team follows.
- The channel. Live chat and phone mean scheduled presence; email and tickets often mean a daily target with more freedom over when you work.
For candidates outside the US, a role that hires in your own region may be built around your daytime, while a US-hours role hiring worldwide may be a night shift in practice. Neither is wrong; know which one you are applying for. Our country pages collect postings from employers' own careers pages that say they can hire in a given country: on 13 September 2026 there were 673 for the Philippines, across all fields.
Fake support jobs: the category's biggest risk
The patterns below are hard stops. If you see one, walk away.
- You are asked to pay for training, certification, a starter kit or software. The US Federal Trade Commission's guidance is that honest employers never ask you to pay to get a job.
- You receive a check to buy equipment from a vendor they choose. The FTC warns that such checks are fake: they bounce, and the bank will want the money back from you.
- The interview happens only by chat or text, and an offer arrives within hours.
- You are asked for bank details or ID before a written offer.
- The job is reshipping packages or passing on money. The FTC says reshipping is not a real job.
- The recruiter writes from a free email address, not the company's domain.
Boards reduce the risk; they do not remove it. FlexJobs charges for screening and Support Driven's roundup relies on members and its own vetting, but a fake offer can also reach you by email or messaging app after you apply anywhere. The strongest defense is to apply through the company's own careers page, where 49.0% of the remote support roles in our index were posted, and to check that every message comes from the company's domain. The full checklist is in our guide to remote work red flags.
What our index says about support roles
Measured on 13 September 2026, covering customer support, customer service and customer success roles:
| Measure | Customer support and success | All remote roles |
| Live roles | 2,393 | 48,522 |
| Posted on employers' own careers pages | 49.0% | 58.1% |
| State pay | 21.6% | 20.6% |
| Say they hire worldwide | 8.1% | 7.8% |
| List only the United States | 26.0% | 24.1% |
| Don't say where they hire | 29.9% | 42.0% |
| Junior or internship | 14.5% (348) | 8.0% (3,866) |
Boards matter more in support than in most fields. Only 49.0% of support roles came from employers' own careers pages, against 58.1% across all remote roles, so 51.0% reached our index through job boards.
It is the most junior-friendly remote field. 14.5% of support roles are junior or internships, the highest share of any field we track, against 8.0% overall. Browse live customer support openings to see what employers ask of new hires.
One in four is US-only, and three in ten say nothing. 26.0% hire only in the United States and 8.1% say worldwide; for the 29.9% that do not say, ask before you apply.
Support or success: two different searches
Customer support resolves tickets and conversations; customer success owns accounts, renewals and expansion, and it is hired more like a commercial role. The boards overlap, but the search terms do not: search "customer success" or "CSM" separately, and expect success roles to ask for retention numbers rather than ticket volumes. Working Nomads gives success its own category. For how CS teams hire, see our guide to remote customer success jobs.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best job board for remote customer support jobs?
For a short, curated list, Support Driven's weekly roundup, because its roles come from a support community. For volume with clear hiring-region labels, We Work Remotely, Remotive and Himalayas. FlexJobs suits people willing to pay for a screened list. Most people get the best coverage from two or three of these together.
Is FlexJobs worth paying for?
It depends on what costs you time. FlexJobs requires a subscription to see employers and apply, and it says its team hand-screens every job. If vetting listings for scams is your bottleneck, a trial can be worth it; if not, the free boards list remote support roles too.
How can I tell if a customer service job offer is fake?
Money should only flow from the employer to you. Walk away if you are asked to pay for training or equipment, sent a check to buy equipment, interviewed only by chat, or asked for bank details before a written offer. Apply through the company's own careers page when you can, and check that the recruiter writes from the company's domain.
Are remote support jobs good for beginners?
They are the most realistic remote starting point we measure. In our index, 14.5% of remote customer support and success roles are junior or internships, the highest share of any field, against 8.0% across all remote roles. Expect scheduled shifts on chat and phone roles.
Do remote customer support jobs require night shifts?
Some do. Teams that cover customers around the clock staff by time zone, so a role serving US customers from Asia can mean working overnight locally. Read the posting for the time zone of the hours and ask whether shifts are fixed or rotating.
