Job Description
The Technical Writer - End User Documentation develops and manages product training and knowledge content for a complex clinical trial technology platform. This role goes beyond technical writing. It requires understanding how functionality fits into end-user workflows and the broader content ecosystem.

The Technical Writer - End User Documentation works closely with product owners, Customer Engagement, and technical team members to ensure training and knowledge materials are accurate, well-structured, and developed to a high standard. Role Responsibilities Develop and maintain knowledge base articles, job aids, user guides, and training resources alongside each of the four annual software releases.

Use release overviews and release notes as the source of truth so content is complete and accurate at the time of each release. Write clear, precise technical documentation that translates complex functionality into language users can understand. Determine where new content belongs within the knowledge base, and how functionality connects across the platform, user roles, and processes.

Create training assets such as training presentations, training manuals, curriculum materials, and competency assessments. These are delivered as completed assets, not presented live. Work with product owners, who serve as subject matter experts, to confirm accuracy.

Incorporate review feedback from product owners and the Manager, Technology Training. Work with the Customer Success team to build an understanding of clinical research context and the platform. Keep team templates and existing materials current with the Technology Training team.

Support monitoring of knowledge base effectiveness. Over time, grow into e-learning development, video tutorials, and other learning formats Role Clarifications This role does not include instructor-led training, in person or virtual. This role does not interact directly with external customers.

Qualifications

Requirements 5+ years of technical writing or documentation experience for software or SaaS platforms, including long-form technical documentation. Proven ability to translate highly technical information into clear, user-friendly content. Experience with a knowledge base or content management platform such as Zendesk, Confluence, or SharePoint.

Demonstrated technical aptitude and the ability to learn complex software quickly. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and critical thinking. Understands context rather than only transcribing requirements.

Collaborative and comfortable asking subject matter experts questions, and receptive to review and feedback. A disciplined self-starter who can work independently in a remote environment. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet release deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a clinical, science, health-related, or technical communication field. Experience in clinical research, life sciences, healthcare, or IT industry. Experience with e-learning authoring or video tutorial tools. Experience working with agile development teams and release cycles.
