Sales Consultant – Solution Engineering (US)

About UptimeAI

UptimeAI provides AI reasoning agents that help industrial operations teams make goal-oriented, real-time decisions.

Industrial facilities are rich in data but constrained by the expertise required to maintain and interpret it. As experienced engineers retire and operational complexity grows, organizations struggle to scale the expert judgment needed to maintain reliability, safety and performance.

UptimeAI addresses this challenge by embedding engineering reasoning directly into AI agents that continuously analyze operational data, diagnose issues and guide teams toward the best actions. The result is faster decisions, reduced downtime, improved efficiency and stronger operational performance. UptimeAI works with large enterprises such as Tata Power and BPCL.

Location: US-Remote

Reports to: SVP-Sales

Department: Sales (Solution Engineering)

Experience: 8–13 years, including plant operations and customer-facing solution experience

The opportunity

Be the technical partner to UptimeAI's US sales team. You will help Account Executives win enterprise customers in Power, Data Centers, Metals & Mining and process industries by running discovery, delivering compelling demos and proving value through pilots that convert to contracts. As the bridge between sales and engineering, you will align each customer's pain points to UptimeAI's offering and convince plant and executive leaders on both the technical and ROI case.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead discovery meetings, platform demos and technical proofs of value for new opportunities and existing customers.

  • Act as the subject-matter expert in predictive analytics, operations and maintenance, process engineering and asset performance management.

  • Translate customer business challenges into technical solutions, combining process knowledge (P&IDs, PFDs, equipment, failure modes) with UptimeAI's capabilities.

  • Gather requirements, run gap analysis and document functional and technical requirements.

  • Answer technical, data, integration and security questions, including historians, DCS, SCADA, OPC and CMMS.

  • Build ROI cases around downtime avoided, maintenance cost, yield, reliability and energy savings, and present them to management.

  • Support solution design and architecture reviews with Delivery, and hand over won deals smoothly.

  • Own technical responses to RFPs, RFIs and security questionnaires.

  • Feed customer and competitor insight back to Product, and build reusable demos and use cases.

  • Take part in marketing campaigns, webinars and industry events.

Must have

  • 8–13 years of experience, including hands-on operations, process or reliability work at an owner-operator plant and customer-facing pre-sales, solution or APM implementation work at a technology provider.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in chemical engineering or an equivalent discipline.

  • Strong process-side operations and maintenance knowledge: reactors, rotating equipment, P&IDs and PFDs.

  • Experience with predictive analytics, AI, APM or simulation solutions.

  • Working knowledge of industrial data sources and systems: historians, DCS, SCADA and OPC.

  • Experience with CMMS and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), or work in a maintenance capacity.

  • Ability to build a business case and convince senior management on value.

  • Willingness to travel 40–60% and authorized to work in the US.

Preferred

  • CMRP, Certified Energy Manager or similar certification.

  • Experience in a vendor remote monitoring and diagnostics center.

  • Quantified plant improvements (reduced reactive maintenance, yield, energy).

  • Experience in a Series A/B or high-growth company.

Key success metrics

Technical win rate · Pilot-to-contract conversion · Opportunities supported · Sales cycle length · RFP turnaround · AE satisfaction · Handoff quality
