Freelance - M&A Deal Sourcing & AI Automation Specialist - Remote

We are looking for a proactive, detail oriented and tech savvy professional to support an M&A business through a combination of Executive Assistant support, research, deal sourcing, lead generation and AI powered automation. This role combines traditional executive and administrative support with analytical and technical responsibilities to help streamline operations, identify potential acquisition opportunities and improve deal sourcing workflows.

The ideal candidate will assist with executive coordination and administrative tasks while researching target companies, building and maintaining prospect lists, supporting outreach efforts and leveraging AI tools and automation to improve efficiency and productivity.

This is a fully remote, fractional freelance role supporting a growing business. We are looking for someone who can work independently, manage competing priorities and adapt to evolving business needs while bringing strong organizational skills, sound judgment and a willingness to explore new technologies and optimize workflows.

Responsibilities

• Research potential businesses, target companies and acquisition opportunities.
• Identify, qualify and organize potential leads and business opportunities.
• Support lead generation, prospect research and outreach activities.
• Use AI tools and automation platforms to streamline research, improve workflows and increase efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and implement practical workflow improvements.
• Organize and maintain accurate research records, lead databases and deal sourcing information.
• Provide executive and administrative support, including calendar management, meeting coordination, email correspondence and follow ups.
• Assist with preparing meeting agendas, research briefs, reports, presentations and other business documents.
• Track action items, deadlines and follow ups to ensure tasks and priorities stay on schedule.
• Coordinate information, manage documentation and support day to day business operations as needed.
• Handle confidential business information with discretion and maintain organized records and files.

Requirements

• Experience using AI tools and automation platforms to streamline tasks and improve workflows.
• Strong research, prospect identification and lead generation skills.
• Comfortable conducting online research, analyzing information and organizing data accurately.
• Proactive, curious and resourceful, with a problem solving mindset and an interest in exploring new tools and technologies.
• Strong communication, organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Experience in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), deal sourcing or business research is an advantage but not required.
