The Clinical Supply Chain Site Lead serves as the primary operational liaison between clinical trial sites, suppliers, distribution partners, and internal stakeholders for late-stage and Phase III studies. The role owns site-level supply chain communication and escalations, leads the resolution of operational issues such as delayed shipments, temperature excursions, chain-of-custody discrepancies, product receipt issues, and dose scheduling impacts, and drives root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement to support uninterrupted patient treatment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the primary clinical supply chain contact and escalation lead for late-stage and Phase III clinical trial sites, building strong site relationships and making sure issues are documented, communicated, and followed through to closure.
  • Manage site-level communications on investigational product deliveries, shipment status, dose scheduling, product receipt, and supply continuity to support uninterrupted patient treatment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resolution with Quality, Clinical Operations, Logistics, Manufacturing, and external partners for temperature excursions, shipment deviations, product complaints, and other events affecting patient dosing or study execution.
  • Lead issue management with clinical sites: assess root causes, implement corrective actions, and partner with Logistics to track distribution disruptions and CAPAs to closure.
  • Collect, trend, and assess site feedback, satisfaction concerns, and recurring operational issues to find opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Present site feedback, operational performance metrics, escalations, risks, mitigation plans, and lessons learned to study teams and leadership.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that improve supply reliability, service levels, cost-effectiveness, and site satisfaction, and contribute to clinical supply chain strategy.
  • Ensure supply chain activities comply with applicable regulations, GMP, GDP, company policies, and study-specific requirements, and maintain accurate documentation, issue logs, and audit-ready files.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Life Sciences, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, clinical research, or healthcare supply chain operations.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing clinical supply chain activities required, preferably supporting global clinical trials and late-stage development programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical supply chain processes, including forecasting, inventory management, manufacturing, distribution, and site support.
  • Strong understanding of applicable regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and global supply chain compliance standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify risks and implement solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage clinical sites, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience leading cross-functional issue resolution efforts and managing escalations to support uninterrupted patient treatment and study execution.
  • Proficiency with supply chain planning systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, clinical trial management tools, Smartsheet and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations to improve operational performance and site experience.
  • Experience working with global suppliers, logistics providers, contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs), and clinical trial sites is preferred.

Key Capabilities:

  • Commitment to excellence: Take pride in your work and consistently strive for excellence in everything you do
  • Results-oriented: Driven to achieve goals and objectives, with a strong focus on delivering measurable results
  • Creativity and innovation: Possess a willingness to think outside the box and come up with unique and creative solutions to challenges
