Symmetrio is partnering with an established medical technology company to identify an Area Sales Manager responsible for driving sales growth across a large, multi-state territory. This opportunity is ideal for a motivated sales professional with experience selling capital equipment, enterprise software, or complex technology solutions into healthcare organizations.

The ideal candidate will be based in Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, or Kansas City , although other locations may be considered. Given the size of the territory, proximity to a major airport is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales of medical technology products and solutions within an assigned territory, focusing on new business development and existing account growth.
  • Develop and execute territory sales plans based on market opportunities, competitive activity, customer needs, and revenue potential.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, customer presentations, opportunity development, negotiations, and closing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical, technical, and administrative decision-makers within healthcare organizations.
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer activity, and pipeline information using Salesforce CRM.
  • Represent the company at regional and national industry conferences, trade shows, and customer events.
  • Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to identify opportunities for product improvements and future growth.
  • Collaborate with internal technical, clinical, and customer support teams to ensure customer satisfaction and timely resolution of issues.
  • Consistently achieve or exceed assigned sales objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of successful sales experience involving capital equipment, enterprise software, or complex technology solutions.
  • Experience selling into hospitals, healthcare systems, or other clinical environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a large geographic territory, develop new business, and navigate complex sales cycles.
  • Strong analytical skills and a strategic approach to territory planning and account development.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM, including pipeline management, forecasting, and activity tracking.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30%.
  • Ideally located in Minneapolis, Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City, or another centrally located market with convenient access to a major airport.

Benefits

  • $225,000–$250,000 on-target earnings (OTE)
  • Uncapped commission plan with additional earning potential for exceeding sales targets
  • Approximately 30% travel across a large geographic territory
  • Opportunity to represent innovative medical technology solutions within an established organization
  • Significant autonomy in territory development and customer relationship management
