About Us

At Swissblock, we are passionate about creating cutting-edge algorithmic trading strategies for the cryptocurrency market using in-depth market analysis. Our software engineers create and maintain the automated trading platform, which covers data ingestion, strategy generation, order execution, and portfolio management.

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will improve, maintain and operate the platform underpinning our algorithmic trading system in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), consisting of execution clusters, network architecture, identity and access management, infrastructure and application security, CI/CD, observability, and more.

Your Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Platform Engineer with experience in deploying scalable enterprise-grade applications in a GCP / Kubernetes environment. You will work with strategic partners such as quant engineers, data scientists, and quant researchers.

Together with your team, you will design and implement system architecture, apply SRE and DevOps best practices, perform infrastructure migration, capacity planning and security audits, and enhance automation, resource scaling, cost optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

You will also drive AI-powered automation and introduce AI-assisted workflows and practices across the team. Most importantly, you will ensure continuous availability and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive in-depth analysis of architecture, design and implementation of our system
  • Maintain and enhance the existing infrastructure
  • Conduct architecture reviews, support vulnerability and incident response
  • Drive and track progress of infrastructure changes from concept to production
  • Perform workload and complexity assessments
  • Run security audits
  • Influence the technical direction of new services and initiatives
  • Work with engineers to define and uphold our concepts, SRE, and DevOps best practices
  • Evaluate and roll out AI-assisted tooling for the engineering team

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of working experience with operating production infrastructure
  • Deep knowledge and experience in GCP and Kubernetes at administrator level
  • Observability administration knowledge (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki)
  • Infrastructure as code experience in a CI/CD DevOps environment (Terraform, GCP Config Connector, Argo projects)
  • Unix, Linux, shell scripting, and networking experience
  • Solid working knowledge of infrastructure security, including secret and encryption management
  • Strong interest in AI methodology and automation
  • Proactive automation mindset, with a drive to remove repetitive work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive attitude
  • Strong sense for quality, reliability, and genuine curiosity to learn new things

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience applying AI-assisted workflows and automation in engineering or operations
  • Deep understanding and experience in infrastructure and application security, including keystore management
  • Development know-how to support software engineers (Go, Python, REST APIs)
  • Relational, NoSQL, and time series databases hands-on skills (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ClickHouse)
  • Middleware administration knowledge (NATS)
  • Experience in operating algorithmic trading infrastructure

What We Offer

  • Unique opportunity to work on new, cutting-edge technology in financial trading
  • Self-funded and already profitable international company in a future-proof market
  • Great culture and team spirit with flat hierarchy and quick decision-making
  • Work-life balance with a remote-first culture (Europe or onsite in Zug, Switzerland)
  • Competitive compensation scheme with an annual bonus
  • 25 days of annual leave, pension, insurance and regular company events
