Catering to companies of all sizes and industries, including some of the world's largest brands, Sonatafy Technology is a trusted provider of nearshore enterprise-level cloud and mobile application software development services.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented QA Engineer with extensive manual and Automation experience using Playwright. You will be part of a collaborative engineering team focused on ensuring product quality through robust test automation and efficient QA practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive automated testing efforts across the platform (50%–50% manual).
  • Contribute to social media reporting initiatives.
  • Conduct thorough automation code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.

Manual Testing (≈50%)

  • Review requirements, user stories, and designs to identify gaps, edge cases, and testability concerns early in the sprint.
  • Write and maintain clear test plans, test cases, and checklists in BrowserStack Test Management.
  • Perform functional, exploratory, regression, smoke, and UAT-support testing across web and mobile.
  • Execute cross-browser and cross-device testing, including responsive layouts and real-device checks.
  • Validate APIs and back-end behavior manually (e.g., Postman) to support UI findings.
  • Reproduce, document, and triage defects with clear steps, evidence (screenshots, videos, logs), severity, and priority.
  • Partner with Product and Development during sprint ceremonies to clarify acceptance criteria and sign off on releases.

Test Automation with Playwright (≈50%)

  • Design, build, and maintain end-to-end and API automated tests using Playwright with TypeScript.
  • Apply maintainable framework patterns (Page Object Model, fixtures, reusable helpers, test data management).
  • Identify which manual test cases should be automated and convert stable, high-value scenarios into automated regression coverage.
  • Investigate and fix flaky tests using Playwright Trace Viewer, logs, screenshots, and video.
  • Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines with parallel execution and run cross-browser tests on BrowserStack Automate.
  • Report automation results and quality metrics (coverage, pass rate, defect trends) to the team and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with Playwright using TypeScript

  • Proficiency in Playwright Trace Debugging

  • Experience with BrowserStack Test Management

  • Experience with BrowserStack Automate

  • Proven ability to scope and implement automation requirements for new features

  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals

  • Experience setting up and maintaining Continuous Integration systems

  • Skilled in reporting, tracking, and triaging bugs, and solving complex technical problems

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with meticulous attention to detail

  • Solid experience in manual testing: test case design, exploratory testing, regression, and smoke testing

  • Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and test design techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning, risk-based testing)

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams and with defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira)

  • Hands-on experience with API testing, both manual (Postman or similar) and automated (Playwright API testing)

  • Comfortable with Git, code reviews, and pull request workflows

  • Advanced English, written and spoken

Nice to Haves

  • Hands-on experience with native mobile and web QA automation (Appium, WDIO)
  • Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD
  • Experience with GitHub Actions or other CI tools
  • Basic SQL for data validation
  • Exposure to accessibility testing (WCAG) and visual regression testing
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools (k6, JMeter)
  • ISTQB or similar QA certification
