Responsibilities •Design and build workflow automations that streamline operational and business processes across Hickory's technology environment •Develop and maintain integrations between systems via APIs, supporting automated data flow and process handoffs •Build and maintain Azure-based cloud infrastructure and services supporting automation and workflow tooling •Write and maintain scripts and small applications to extend automation capability where off-the-shelf tools fall short •Apply version control and CI/CD practices to automation code, ensuring changes are tested, reviewed, and deployed safely •Contribute to technical and solution design for new automation initiatives and process-improvement projects •Apply AI tools and literacy to identify automation opportunities and accelerate development and troubleshooting •Support monitoring/logging and QA/testing practices across automated workflows, escalating issues promptly •Partner with operational and business stakeholders to identify manual, error-prone, or repetitive processes worth automating Requirements • 3 to 5 years relevant experience •Experienced with Azure or another major cloud platform, comfortable operating and troubleshooting cloud-hosted services •Hands-on experience building workflow automations (e.g. via Workato, Power Platform, or comparable tooling) •Solid understanding of APIs and system-integration patterns •Programming or scripting proficiency (e.g.

Python, JavaScript, C#) sufficient to build and extend automations •Practical experience with version control (e.g. Git) and CI/CD pipelines •Working AI literacy - comfortable using AI-assisted tools to support development and process-improvement work •Experience contributing to technical or solution design for automation or process-improvement initiatives •Exposure to monitoring/logging, QA/testing, or manufacturing/warehousing/operational systems is an advantage, not a requirement - candidates from other operational or automation environments are equally welcome •A practical, hands-on problem solver with a process-improvement mindset, who communicates well and can work independently For this role, we're looking for a similar technical profile to the Platform & Integration Engineer, with a stronger focus on automation, workflows and operational processes.
