Healthcare Program & Project Manager
About the Opportunity
Put your healthcare experience and project leadership skills to work turning organizational priorities into results. You’ll coordinate teams, manage timelines, and guide projects from planning through completion, bringing structure, accountability, and clear communication to a fast-moving environment.
Healthcare experience and demonstrated project management expertise are required. We especially welcome medical assistants, clinical coordinators, practice administrators, and practice managers who have developed strong project leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from start to finish: Define scope, deliverables, milestones, timelines, responsibilities, and success measures.
- Keep work organized and moving: Maintain accurate project plans, task lists, dashboards, and status reports; assign owners and deadlines; and follow through consistently.
- Coordinate teams: Align clinical, administrative, operational, and leadership stakeholders around priorities and deadlines.
- Manage risks and dependencies: Anticipate delays and resource constraints, resolve barriers, and escalate issues with recommended solutions.
- Support healthcare initiatives: Coordinate implementations, onboarding, operational improvements, and other assigned projects.
- Improve workflows: Identify gaps and develop practical solutions, standard operating procedures, and supporting documentation.
- Lead meetings and communicate progress: Prepare agendas, document decisions, track next steps, and provide concise updates on milestones, performance measures, risks, and decisions needed.
- Protect sensitive information: Follow applicable privacy requirements and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
Healthcare and Project Management
- Professional healthcare experience and a practical understanding of clinical and administrative workflows.
- Demonstrated experience independently managing projects beyond meeting scheduling or administrative support.
- Strong skills in planning, scope management, prioritization, scheduling, stakeholder communication, risk management, and change management.
- Ability to turn broad goals into clear tasks, measurable deliverables, and realistic timelines while managing multiple projects and dependencies with limited supervision.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and reliable follow-through.
Technology and Data
- Strong proficiency in Google Workspace: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, and Meet.
- Strong spreadsheet skills, including data organization and validation, formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, project trackers, charts, and dashboards.
- Experience with Asana, ClickUp, Monday.com, Smartsheet, Trello, or a comparable project management platform.
- Ability to create clear reports and maintain organized, accessible shared documentation.
Communication and Work Style
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and confidence working with healthcare professionals, operational teams, and leadership.
- Ability to work independently while remaining responsive, collaborative, and accountable within an agreed schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience as a medical assistant, clinical coordinator, practice administrator, or practice manager.
- Experience leading healthcare workflow improvements, program launches, technology implementations, or staff training.
- Familiarity with electronic health records and practice management systems.
- Project management certification or formal training, such as PMP, CAPM, or an equivalent credential.
What Success Looks Like
Projects stay organized, responsibilities are clear, and milestones are met. Risks surface early, leadership receives actionable updates, and improvements deliver results in everyday healthcare operations.
