The full posting
We're hiring the person who will lead our investor relations team, and we'll be straight about why. Our two co-founders run that team today, and five good associates deserve a leader who can give them more hours than they can.
Pairs is a vetted private capital network. We put break-out founders in front of the family offices, VCs and strategic investors who fit them, and our team runs the investor relations work around every introduction. We are paid by the founder for our work, never by the round. Investors are members of the network and pay nothing, which is exactly why the best of them still read what we send.
Why this seat matters
Founders come to us for one thing, access to our investor network. That network stays strong only as long as every member keeps getting deals that fit what they told us, at the pace they asked for. One careless pitch teaches a family office to ignore our next email. Your team decides which way that goes, every single day.
The role
This is a leadership role first. You’ll run five IR associates, each holding a book of investor members and client companies, and you’ll report directly to both founders.
Most of leading a team is unglamorous, and I think that’s the part that matters. A clear bar, a weekly rhythm, honest 1:1s, sitting in on calls and saying the hard thing early. When conversion dipped on one of our teams, more leads didn’t fix it. Daily standups, weekly reviews of real call transcripts and coaching time spent on the people who needed it did. I want someone who already works that way.
You’ll stay close to the work as well. The most senior family offices and the new regions we open are yours, because a leader who still takes the hard calls coaches them better.
What you’ll own
-
Your five associates: hiring, onboarding, weekly 1:1s, coaching and their results.
-
A weekly rhythm with a Monday kickoff and a Friday review of every win and loss, so the team runs well even when you’re not in the room.
-
The health of the network. More active members every month, each one hearing from us at the pace they asked for.
-
Pitch quality, meaning every introduction your team sends is one you’d put your own name on.
-
Our numbers, sent to both founders each week: mandate calls, activations, pitches, founder calls and referrals.
-
Senior mandate calls, plus a close working line with client success so every client’s raise keeps moving.
Who I’m looking for
-
Someone who has run a team before, ideally five or more direct reports, and can tell me what they achieved and who they grew.
-
You’ve hired people, coached them and, when it came to it, let them go.
-
Six or more years on the investment side of a family office, VC or growth fund, or raising capital for private companies.
-
Real family office relationships, and a feel for what a family office asks before it takes a founder call.
-
Your pitches are two lines long and get read to the end.
-
Discretion comes naturally. Names, numbers and terms stay private.
-
AI tooling and a clean CRM handle your admin, so your hours go to people.
What you get
US$200K to US$300K total compensation, fully remote, with a few hours of overlap with US Eastern time. A team that is already working, a direct line to both founders, and a seat at the most interesting intersection I know of, where the companies defining the future meet the capital that backs them.
How to apply
Hit apply. The form is short and we read every application. Please don’t name investors or companies from past roles anywhere in it.
