Business Development Lead | Social & Creative Agency Australia-based, flexible/remote $100,000–$115,000 base + uncapped commission An established independent social-first creative agency is looking for a commercially driven, relationship-focused Business Development Lead to support its next stage of growth. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone with around four to five years of agency-side new business experience. You’ll manage qualified inbound opportunities from the initial conversation through to signed retainer, while building a proactive outbound program focused on brands the agency genuinely wants to work with. This isn’t a high-volume or aggressive sales environment. The agency takes a considered approach to growth, with a strong focus on building long-term relationships and finding the right client partnerships. The role You’ll take ownership of the agency’s mid-range new business pipeline, working closely with senior leadership while operating with a high level of autonomy. Your responsibilities will include: Managing qualified inbound opportunities from initial enquiry through to proposal, negotiation and signed retainer Building and running a focused outbound program Identifying and developing relationships with target brands Creating and maintaining a healthy new business pipeline Leading credentials meetings, proposals, pitches and commercial conversations Supporting senior leadership on larger enterprise opportunities Representing the agency at client meetings, networking events and industry opportunities Working towards agreed growth targets while maintaining a relationship-first approach An administrative resource handles entry-level enquiries, allowing this role to focus on qualified opportunities and proactive business development. What we’re looking for You’re likely working in business development, new business, partnerships or agency growth within a social, creative, digital, content or advertising agency. You’ll bring: Around four to five years of agency-side business development or new business experience Experience managing opportunities through the full sales cycle A track record of contributing to new client wins and commercial growth A strong understanding of social media and the services delivered by a social-first agency Existing relationships and credibility with brands, marketers or relevant decision-makers Confidence leading client conversations, proposals and pitches Strong commercial judgement and an understanding of agency pricing and retainers A proactive, self-directed approach A thoughtful and relationship-led sales style You don’t need to be a Sales Director or Head of Growth. This opportunity will suit someone ready to take greater ownership of a new business function while remaining close to the day-to-day work. Location and travel The role is flexible and can be performed remotely from within Australia, working Australian business hours. Regular in-person attendance will be required for meetings in Melbourne and Sydney, with occasional travel as the agency continues to grow. Salary and commission The base salary is $100,000–$115,000 plus an uncapped commission structure , depending on experience. The commission component discussed with shortlisted candidates. Why consider this opportunity? Take genuine ownership of new business within an established agency Build and shape a growth function rather than inherit a finished playbook Work directly with senior agency leadership Represent a respected social-first creative offering Work flexibly while remaining connected to clients and the market Benefit from uncapped earning potential linked to performance If you’re an agency new business professional who knows how to turn strong relationships into commercial opportunities, we’d love to hear from you. Further information about the agency will be shared with suitable candidates during the recruitment process.
