Job Description

Own the P&L. Partner with the Business. Drive Sustainable Growth. Are you a corporate finance professional who thrives on financial modeling, budgeting, and variance analysis? Do you want to move beyond static reporting and serve as an active finance partner to business leaders? We are seeking an Operational FP&A Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our Director of FP&A and CFO, acting as the primary finance partner for key operating departments to manage budgets, forecast expenses, and analyze commercial SaaS performance. Please note: This is an operational corporate finance position requiring foundational accounting literacy and advanced financial modeling in Excel. It is not a business intelligence (BI), data analytics, or SQL engineering role.

What You’ll Do:

  • 📊 Drive Monthly Close & OPEX Management (P&L Ownership)

    • Own monthly and quarterly expense-side variance analysis (Budget vs. Actuals) for assigned operating departments.
    • Partner directly with Accounting during the monthly close to review accruals, verify general ledger coding, and ensure forecast integrity.
    • Lead monthly budget reviews with department leaders, explaining the operational "why" behind variances and updating rolling forecasts.
  • 👥 Own Workforce & Headcount Financial Modeling

    • Build, maintain, and forecast the dynamic headcount roster and fully burdened personnel costs (salary, bonus, taxes, benefits).
    • Partner with HR and hiring managers to track open requisitions against the approved annual operating budget.
    • Run weekly reconciliations between HRIS data and the general ledger to maintain 100% headcount cost accuracy.
  • 📈 SaaS Unit Economics & Commercial Performance

    • Track and analyze core SaaS financial metrics (ARR, Net Retention Rate, CAC, Payback Period, and Gross Margin).
    • Translate financial performance and unit economics into clear executive commentary for monthly C-Suite and Board reporting decks.
    • Partner with Go-to-Market leaders to model the financial impact of hiring, quota capacity, and operational spend.
  • 🔧 Financial Systems & Process Optimization

    • Support the maintenance and modeling logic within our corporate planning environment (Workday Adaptive Planning).
    • Continuously refine complex financial models in Excel, eliminating manual inputs and improving forecast accuracy.
    • Execute ad-hoc financial and scenario analysis for leadership on strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

You’re driven, curious, and excited to learn how a SaaS business really works. You love diving into details but know how to elevate insights for executives. You don’t wait for instruction—you seek out the next question, the next improvement, the next answer.

✔ Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA a plus).
  • 1–3 years of progressive experience in FP&A or Accounting (SaaS experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong understanding of the expense side of the P&L and other financial statements.
  • Advanced Excel and modeling skills; comfortable building and improving multi-tab, driver-based models.
  • Experience with Adaptive Insights or similar FP&A tools is a plus.

✔ You’ll Thrive Here If You Are:

  • A proactive problem-solver who can operate without a playbook.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented.
  • A strong communicator who feels comfortable engaging VP- and C-level stakeholders.
  • Flexible, creative, and able to adjust quickly as priorities shift.
  • Excited about learning the mechanics of SaaS metrics and how they drive growth.

Why Join Us?

  • Work directly with senior leadership on high-impact strategic initiatives.
  • Gain visibility across the organization as a trusted financial partner.
  • Join a fast-growing SaaS company where your work directly shapes business decisions.
  • Grow your FP&A skillset, your modeling capabilities, and your career faster than you thought possible.
