Field Chief Information Security Officer (Field CISO)

Role Overview The Field CISO is a customer-facing executive who serves as a trusted security advisor to prospects, customers, and partners. This role bridges security leadership and go-to-market strategy, helping accelerate revenue and strengthen market credibility by translating complex security challenges into clear business outcomes.

Unlike an internal CISO, this position does not manage internal security operations. Instead, it focuses on enabling sales success and building trust with executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Go-To-Market & Revenue Enablement

  • Partner with Sales, Solutions Engineering, and Customer Success to drive pipeline growth, accelerate deals, support closures, make strategic introductions, and deliver positive outcomes.
  • Serve as the executive security voice in late-stage sales cycles, board-level discussions, and strategic customer engagements.
  • Lead security-focused meetings, including architecture reviews, risk assessments, and executive briefings.
  • Navigate complex buyer dynamics involving CISOs, CIOs, risk, legal, and compliance stakeholders.
  • Provide actionable insights to influence GTM strategy, pricing, and positioning.

Market & Thought Leadership

  • Represent the company as a security leader at conferences, webinars, and executive roundtables.
  • Contribute to thought leadership through blogs, whitepapers, and industry commentary.
  • Build credibility in new markets and verticals through public engagement and strategic relationships.

Customer Advocacy & Trust

  • Develop long-term relationships with CISOs and security executives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor during critical discussions, audits, or regulatory reviews.
  • Help customers articulate security value to their boards and leadership teams.

Success Metrics

  • Impact on pipeline growth, deal velocity, and win rates.
  • Executive engagement and customer satisfaction.
  • Adoption of security messaging in GTM activities.
  • Market visibility and thought leadership reach.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in cybersecurity or technology leadership, with prior CISO or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise security domains (cloud, identity, risk, compliance).
  • Proven ability to communicate complex security topics to executive audiences.
  • Experience in high-trust, customer-facing roles within fast-paced environments.

Preferred:

  • Background in B2B SaaS or security vendors.
  • Experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, and government).
  • Established network of security executives.

Halcyon offers the following benefits to eligible employees:

  • Comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents.

  • Short and long-term disability coverage, basic life and AD&D insurance plans.

  • Medical and dependent care FSA options.

  • 401k plan with a generous employer contribution.

The expected base salary range for this position is $200,000 - $250.000 Compensation varies based on a variety of factors which include (but are not limited to) role level, skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, location, and experience. In addition to base pay, certain roles are eligible to participate in our bonus or commission plans, as well as our benefits offers, and equity awards.

In accordance with applicable state and federal laws, the range provided is Halcyon’s reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location. Base pay is one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity in the Company.
