Technical Account Manager Architect - EMEA (Israel)

ClickHouse is the open-source, real-time analytical database behind a lot of today's AI. More than 4,000 companies build on ClickHouse, including Anthropic, OpenAI, Tesla and Meta.

As a TAM Architect, you're the named technical lead for a small group of our largest customers. You carry the context of how they run ClickHouse, guide them from their first design decisions through production and growth, and make sure the rest of ClickHouse shows up for them when it matters. Your job is to keep them healthy, help them get more out of ClickHouse, and spot the next use case.

You'll work inside our Support organisation and own escalations for your accounts, working closely with our support engineers. The role is based in Israel, close to some of our biggest customers in EMEA.

Large enterprises are moving onto ClickHouse fast, and we're building out how we look after them. People joining now have a real say in how this role works.

What you'll do

• Run a regular cadence with 4 to 8 strategic accounts (weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on the project), plus quarterly health checks and business reviews, on site where it helps

• Lead onboarding, where the decisions that are hardest to reverse get made: schema and data modelling, table engines, ingestion, migration and query design

• Once customers are live, keep performance and cost on track as they grow, and help them onto new use cases

• Work closely with Support: own escalations for your accounts, with regular case reviews and a direct line into L3 engineering

• Work with the right people for each piece of work: partner with Solutions Architects on new use cases and proof of concepts, and bring in Consulting Engineers for hands-on projects

• Write it down: documented setup and configuration, knowledge base articles and reference architectures that help other customers too

What you'll bring

• 5+ years in a hands-on, customer-facing technical role after the sale, whether your title was TAM, solutions architect, professional services, senior support or something else

• Specialist depth in data modelling, query performance and integration on distributed or analytical databases

• Hands-on SQL. You regularly write complex queries from scratch, and tune and debug them yourself

• Experience owning a small book of high-touch enterprise accounts, where you know each customer's architecture in depth

• Hands-on cloud experience (AWS, GCP and/or Azure)

• You've run distributed systems, such as distributed databases, in production

• You explain technical trade-offs clearly, to engineers and to executives

• Fluent English and Hebrew

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse, or with other analytical databases such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift or Druid

• Involvement in open source, as a user, contributor or community member

• A working knowledge of Kubernetes

Good to know

• You'll be based in Israel. Travel to customer sites is part of the job, up to 35% of your time, within Israel and throughout EMEA

• You'll join our EMEA Support Services team, where Support Engineers, Consulting Engineers and TAM Architects work as one team

• You'll be part of the on-call rota, about one week a quarter, with time off in lieu if you're paged at a weekend

• A take-home exercise, designed to take four to five hours, with three working days to complete it

• A 90-minute technical interview with the team: you'll walk us through your take-home, then join a working session where you write and tune SQL live

• A final conversation with our VP of Support Services

• References, then an offer
