The full posting

Do you enjoy solving complex data challenges, making architectural decisions, and building data solutions that others can rely on? We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help us strengthen our data platform and shape how data engineering is done at carVertical.

Join our Data Engineering team

You’ll take ownership of complex data engineering challenges – from designing scalable pipelines and data models to improving the infrastructure behind them. Some problems will have a clear path forward; others will require investigation, experimentation, and finding a solution where there isn’t an obvious one yet.

You’ll work closely with other data, AI, machine learning, and intelligence teams, helping them get reliable access to the data they need. Along the way, you’ll have a real say in technical decisions, engineering standards, and how we evolve our data ecosystem.

Our mission:

Build a scalable and reliable data foundation that enables teams across carVertical to turn data into better products, insights, and decisions.

If you want to:

  • Work on complex engineering challenges where the right solution isn’t always obvious.

  • Make technical and architectural decisions that improve the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data platform.

  • Shape engineering standards around testing, code quality, and infrastructure.

  • Spot technical debt and turn it into meaningful improvements instead of letting it pile up.

  • Seek for optimizations in infrastructure performance and costs.

  • Lead technical discussions, challenge existing approaches, and help the team find better ways of solving problems.

  • Share your knowledge and support other engineers in their growth.

  • Collaborate with Data Department teams to solve dependencies and make data flow smoothly across the organization.

What we’re looking for:

  • Solid experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture and the ability to design systems that are scalable, reliable, and maintainable.

  • Hands-on experience with modern cloud data platforms, infrastructure and using AI coding assistants and agents in daily engineering work.

  • Experience with technologies in our stack: BigQuery, AWS, Terraform, dbt, Airflow, Spark and AI agents. You don’t need to have worked extensively with every single one, but you should be comfortable learning and working across the stack.

  • Good understanding of software engineering practices.

  • Confidence working with ambiguous technical problems, weighing different approaches, and making well-reasoned decisions.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with multiple technical teams.

What we offer:

  • Work flexibility: Work from home, the office, or combine both – choose what works best for you.

  • Flexible working hours: Structure your day around when you work best while staying connected with your team.

  • Meaningful ownership: Take responsibility for complex technical challenges and have a real impact on how our data platform evolves.

  • Room to grow: Learn from experienced colleagues, experiment with new approaches, and keep developing your technical and leadership skills.

  • Modern tools: Work with a contemporary data stack, first-class access to AI development tools and have the opportunity to influence how we use and improve it.

Salary:

The salary range for this position is 4300-6000 gross/month.

We’re open to discussing a different salary based on your skills, competencies, and experience.
