Full-Stack Web Developer

About the Role

We're hiring a Full-Stack Web Developer to build and ship web products for US-based clients at Bolder Apps. You'll own features end to end, from the database and API to the React interface users actually touch. Our stack is React and Next.js on the frontend and Node.js on the backend. We use AI coding tools every day, and we still need people who have built real backends and real frontends with their own hands, and who can tell when generated code is almost right but wrong. If you've shipped full-stack products to production and want to work directly with founders, we want to talk.

About Us

Bolder Apps is a product development studio that partners with US-based startups and established companies to build and scale innovative digital products. We specialize in AI-powered development, full-cycle product creation, and engineering team augmentation. Our mission is simple: build bolder, faster, and smarter.

Our Culture & Values (read before applying)

We move fast. We take ownership. We work with AI, not against it. And we expect everyone to bring ideas, not wait for instructions. There are no daily checklists, no micromanagement, and no corporate politics. Instead, you'll have autonomy, trust, and a team that's always ready to help you grow. At Bolder Apps, impact matters more than titles, and curiosity matters more than seniority. If you want a place where you can level up fast and actually see your work making a difference - welcome aboard.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship full-stack features for client web products, from data model and API through to the React and Next.js interface
• Design and maintain backend services and APIs in Node.js, including auth, integrations, background jobs, and database work
• Build fast, accessible, responsive frontends in React and Next.js, including server rendering and routing where it fits
• Turn product briefs and designs into working software, and push back early when scope or technical approach is wrong
• Use AI coding tools to move faster, then review, test, and own every line before it reaches production
• Keep code clean, tested, and documented so the next engineer can pick it up
• Work directly with PMs, designers, and US clients on estimates, trade-offs, and launch risk
• Deploy, monitor, and fix production issues on the apps you build

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven full-stack experience. 3+ years building production web applications where you personally wrote both the backend and the frontend. Your portfolio or work history shows shipped products, not only tutorials or demos.
• React. Strong hands-on React experience. Next.js in production is a strong plus.
• Backend. Production experience with Node.js, or another popular backend language such as Python, with a clear path to Node.js. You have designed APIs, worked with relational databases, and handled auth and third-party integrations.
• TypeScript and modern JavaScript fluency.
• Engineering fundamentals. Git, code review, testing, and careful production deploys.
• AI-augmented workflow. You use Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or similar daily, and you can catch and fix what they get wrong.
• English at C1 or above. Client calls and written updates go out in your voice.
• US hours overlap. Available through roughly 5 PM EST for live client coordination.
• Ownership habits. Honest estimates, early blockers, finished work.

Nice to Have

• Agency or multi-client experience
• Cloud and hosting experience (Vercel, AWS, or similar)
• Experience with Postgres, Prisma, or Supabase
• Some React Native or mobile exposure

What You'll Get

• Full-time, fully remote role, with overlap into US Eastern time for client coordination
• Opportunity to build exciting products for the US market
• Steady pipeline of client work as part of a growing team
• Real autonomy over how you design and build, with no rigid playbook
• Direct line to decision-makers, no extra layers between you and the people who own the outcome
• A peer network of product-minded engineers working on overlapping projects
