The full posting

You own architectural design and its automation for our data center and industrial projects — from building layouts and equipment access to envelopes, life safety, and construction documentation.

You'll deliver real architectural packages on live projects while building the parametric engine that generates them for every future site. You'll build alongside our existing structural and architectural automation efforts, connecting building design with the engineering systems inside it.

This isn't a visualization role. You're designing buildings that get constructed — and building the software that makes the process repeatable.

You don't need a software background. You need to understand buildings, think in systems, and use AI to turn your design knowledge into working tools.

What you’ll achieve

  • Deliver architectural packages for live projects: space planning, floor plans, elevations, sections, envelope assemblies, architectural details, schedules, and coordinated construction documentation.
  • Build a parametric architectural design engine that turns project requirements, equipment layouts, site constraints, and building-system requirements into coordinated models and drawings.
  • Automate the repetitive work: layout iterations, room and door schedules, drawing production, and checks for equipment clearances, circulation, accessibility, and egress — with clear review points for decisions that require professional judgment.
  • Connect architecture with civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical design. When equipment, capacity, or structural grids change, the building layout and documentation should update with them — not require days of manual redrawing.
  • Use AI coding agents to ship these workflows. Turn decisions made on one project into reusable rules, components, and tools for the next.

Requirements

You must

  • Understand how buildings work — space planning, circulation, building envelopes, constructability, and the interfaces between architecture and engineering.
  • Have taken designs beyond a concept: through detailed modeling, construction documentation, fabrication, or construction. Show us what you personally contributed.
  • Think parametrically. Understand which design decisions can become repeatable rules, which depend on project-specific constraints, and which require human judgment.
  • Be able to ship working tools with AI coding agents today, even without a traditional software background.
  • Take responsibility for design quality. Research and apply relevant requirements, verify automated outputs, and resolve coordination issues rather than passing them downstream.

You do not need to

  • Have prior data center or industrial-project experience.
  • Have a CS degree or identify as a software engineer.
  • Have spent your career at a conventional architecture firm.
  • Believe that automation should replace architectural judgment. We don't.

Architectural licensure, experience delivering permitted construction sets, and hands-on work with BIM, computational design, or digital fabrication are particularly valuable.
