TL;DR: The best remote job boards for candidates in Europe are the ones that say which countries an employer can hire in: EU Remote Jobs, Landing.jobs, Arbeitnow, Himalayas, Remotive, Working Nomads, Remote OK and We Work Remotely all carry a location or region tag. On 30 September 2026 our index held 49,928 live remote postings. 8,797 of them (17.6%) can hire in at least one European country, and 12.4% of all postings can hire only in Europe. For comparison, 21.1% can hire only in the United States.
Why a European search is harder than it looks
"Remote" on a European board can mean four different things: anywhere in the world, anywhere in Europe, one country, or a time-zone band such as "CET plus or minus two hours". A job in Berlin that says "Remote, Europe" may still need a work permit for the UK, and a UK job may be closed to people in Spain. The first question about any board is whether it tells you, before you apply, where the employer can hire.
What our index shows for Europe
All figures come from our index of live remote postings that employers published themselves on their own careers pages or hiring systems, counted on 30 September 2026. Copies on other job boards are not counted. The method is on our page about how we check every job, and the same figures, with definitions, sit on our remote job market stats page.
| Measured on 30 September 2026 | Postings | Share of all postings |
| Live remote postings in the index | 49,928 | 100% |
| Open to at least one European country | 8,797 | 17.6% |
| Can hire only in European countries | 6,179 | 12.4% |
| Can hire only in the United States | 10,512 | 21.1% |
| Say they can hire anywhere | 1,378 | 2.8% |
| Do not say where they can hire | 24,279 | 48.6% |
Of the 8,797 postings open to at least one European country, 6,054 name a European country in their list, 1,378 say they hire anywhere, and 1,365 reach Europe only through a region label such as EMEA. So a search for one country's name finds little of what is open to you: only 1,116 of the 4,080 postings open to Germany (27%) name Germany.
Country by country
"Open" means the posting says it can hire anywhere, or its list of countries or regions includes that country. "Names the country" counts postings whose list names the country itself.
| Country | Open to candidates there | Share of all postings | Names the country | Share that state pay |
| Germany | 4,080 | 8.2% | 1,116 | 21.1% |
| United Kingdom | 3,831 | 7.7% | 1,796 | 20.0% |
| Spain | 3,592 | 7.2% | 626 | 21.2% |
| Poland | 3,564 | 7.1% | 591 | 20.3% |
| France | 3,379 | 6.8% | 408 | 21.4% |
| Netherlands | 3,261 | 6.5% | 307 | 21.6% |
| Ireland | 3,253 | 6.5% | 312 | 22.1% |
| Portugal | 3,217 | 6.4% | 258 | 21.8% |
Pay on European postings
Only about one posting in five open to a European country shows a pay figure: 18.1% of the 8,797, against 60.0% of the postings open to the United States. Among the postings that do show pay, the middle of the stated ranges, converted to annual US dollars, was $113,848 for Germany, $122,575 for the United Kingdom, $125,000 for the Netherlands and $165,750 for the United States. Two cautions: these are advertised ranges, not what a local employer pays, and they include worldwide postings, which are often priced for the employer's home market. Our page on geographic pay bands explains why the same job can carry different pay in different countries.
Professions with the most postings open to Europe
| Profession label in our index | Open postings | Share |
| Account Executive | 511 | 5.8% |
| Marketing Manager | 452 | 5.1% |
| Operations | 405 | 4.6% |
| Product Manager | 346 | 3.9% |
| Backend Developer | 294 | 3.3% |
| Project Manager | 273 | 3.1% |
| Implementation Consultant | 263 | 3.0% |
| Account Manager | 241 | 2.7% |

Remote job boards for candidates in Europe
We opened each board on 30 September 2026 and report what its own pages say. Where a page did not state something, we say so.
EU Remote Jobs
Its tagline is remote jobs in European time zones. You can filter by country, including the UK, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany and France, and by worldwide, EMEA, LATAM, APAC and North America. Many listings show a salary, and there are filters for language and for a four-day week. The site does not say whether it is free for job seekers.
Landing.jobs
A tech job board with a remote-policy filter (remote, hybrid or on-site) and a "visa and work permit" filter, which helps when you are hunting across borders. Listings show salary ranges, for example in euros, and salary currencies include EUR, GBP, USD and BRL. No candidate fees are mentioned.
Arbeitnow
A board with a "Remote" category, a "Jobs with Visa Sponsorship" category, and listings in English and German. It says you do not need German for many of its jobs. No candidate fees are mentioned.
Welcome to the Jungle
Filters include location and remote work, with a focus on tech and on France, the UK and the United States. It says it covers 4,500 companies in those three countries. The pages we read do not state a cost for candidates.
Jobgether
You set your location or choose "Anywhere", and it describes every job as verified remote. It says it is free to use, with an optional premium plan from 1 euro a day and a 14-day money-back guarantee. It aims at senior professionals with 10 or more years of experience.
Himalayas
Filters for time zone and location, and our September check found that listings name the countries an employer can hire in, for example "United Kingdom only". It is free for job seekers, with an optional paid plan, and says most listings include a salary range.
Remotive
Filters by country (Germany is one), by region (Europe) and by "Worldwide". The free view shows only part of the list, and a paid membership unlocks the rest. Many listings show salary ranges.
Working Nomads
Regions include Europe, and country filters include France, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the UK. Its FAQ says some jobs carry location requirements, shown in the job panel. Job alerts are free, and Premium was listed at $17.95 a month, $39.95 a quarter or $79.95 a year on the day we checked.
Remote OK
A region filter that includes Europe, plus more than 190 countries. Listings are free, and it has a salary filter (a minimum per year) and a "highest paying" category. Premium started at $14.95 a month on the day we checked.
We Work Remotely
Every listing carries a region tag, and roles the employer marks as fully remote with no location limit get the "Anywhere in the World" tag. A basic account is free, and paid plans add extras such as more job alerts.

How to read a European location line
- "Anywhere" or "Worldwide": open to any country, but read the body for a time-zone requirement.
- "Europe" or "EU only": check which list it means. The EU is 27 countries, the EEA adds three, and "Europe" on a posting often includes the UK and Switzerland. Our explainer on what "remote, Europe only" means covers the wording.
- "EMEA": Europe, the Middle East and Africa together, so it says little about a single country. See what EMEA means in a job posting.
- One country ("UK only", "Germany"): unless it is yours, or you already have the right to work there, move on.
- Nothing at all: 48.6% of postings in our index say nothing about where they hire. Ask before you apply.
Contractor, employee or employer of record
Once an employer can hire where you live, the next question is how. You may be an independent contractor who invoices the company, an employee of a local entity, or an employee of an employer of record that hires you on the company's behalf. The same gross number can leave different take-home pay and protections, so ask which one the offer is before you compare salaries. Our guides to contractor vs employee remote jobs and employers of record explain the difference, and time-zone overlap covers the schedule.
Where RemoteHunt fits
RemoteHunt is not a board you post on. It reads live remote postings straight from employers' own careers pages, checks where each one says it can hire, and scores the ones that can hire you from 0 to 100 against your resume, with a written reason. If you have no resume, it builds one with you. It is free to start and you never pay to apply. Use a board from this list to browse, and use RemoteHunt to find out which of the postings can hire in your country and how well each one fits you. The 90-day pass ($29 once, no renewal, 14-day refund) opens the company and apply link on every match.
FAQ
What is the best remote job board for someone in Europe?
There is no single best board. Boards that state where an employer can hire, such as EU Remote Jobs, Himalayas, Remotive and We Work Remotely, save the most time. If you work in tech, Landing.jobs adds a visa and work permit filter.
How many remote jobs can hire in Europe?
On 30 September 2026, 8,797 of the 49,928 live remote postings in our index (17.6%) could hire in at least one European country, and 6,179 of them (12.4% of all postings) could hire only in European countries.
Are there more remote jobs in the US or in Europe?
By our count more postings are limited to the United States than to Europe. 10,512 postings (21.1%) hire only in the US, against 6,179 (12.4%) only in European countries. Postings that say they hire anywhere, 1,378 (2.8%), are open to both.
