As part of our continuing growth, we are looking for a capable and collaborative mid-level Cloud Engineer to join our inclusive technology team. This role offers the opportunity to design, implement, and support secure, scalable cloud environments while contributing to modernisation, automation, and continuous improvement across client projects.

Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure, Automation & Platform Engineering

Design, deploy, configure, and maintain reliable cloud infrastructure across AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.

Support the implementation of scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.

Administer cloud services including compute, networking, storage, identity and access management, monitoring, and backup.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep.

Build and improve automation scripts and deployment processes using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.

Contribute to CI/CD pipelines that support efficient, repeatable, and secure application delivery.

Monitor cloud environments, investigate incidents, troubleshoot performance issues, and implement preventative improvements.

Apply cloud security, governance, resilience, and compliance standards across infrastructure and operational processes.

Collaborate with software engineers, architects, project teams, and clients to gather requirements and deliver effective cloud solutions.

Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, architecture diagrams, and configuration records.

Essential Skills

Cloud Engineering, DevOps & Infrastructure as Code

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional experience in a cloud engineering, DevOps, infrastructure, or systems administration role.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major public cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Working knowledge of cloud networking, virtual machines, containers, storage, identity management, and security controls.
  • Experience developing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep, or an equivalent tool.
  • Practical knowledge of CI/CD tools and source control platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or JavaScript.
  • Understanding of monitoring, logging, alerting, incident management, and cloud service reliability principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose technical issues and deliver sustainable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.

Desirable Experience

Containers, Cloud Security & Modernization

  • Cloud certification such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Associate Cloud Engineer.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service, Azure Kubernetes Service, or Google Kubernetes Engine.
  • Knowledge of serverless services, event-driven architecture, APIs, and managed database technologies.
  • Experience implementing cloud security, compliance, identity governance, encryption, and least-privilege access controls.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methods, Scrum, Kanban, or DevSecOps practices.
  • Understanding of cloud cost management, resource tagging, capacity planning, and FinOps principles.
  • Experience supporting cloud migration, application modernization, disaster recovery, or hybrid cloud environments.
