Position Overview

  • The Solution Architect will design technical and operational solutions for large-scale public-sector and utility clean-energy programs. The role focuses on translating client requirements and RFP specifications into practical program designs covering distributed energy resources (DER), solar + storage, electric vehicles, and EV charging infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Solution Architecture

  • Analyze RFPs, solicitations, and client requirements to identify technical and operational needs.

  • Design program-level solutions for:

  • Distributed energy resources (DER)

  • Solar and battery storage

  • Electric vehicle programs

  • EV charging infrastructure

  • Develop program delivery models, including:

  • Staffing structures

  • Operational workflows

  • Technology requirements

  • Incentive/rebate processing

  • Customer/program support processes

  • Develop technical approaches that address client requirements and measurable outcomes.

  • Identify opportunities for technical differentiation and develop solution concepts.

  • Collaborate with finance and program teams to develop scope and pricing inputs.

  • Ensure technical solutions are aligned with proposed budgets and implementation requirements.

  • Work with subject matter experts to validate technical approaches.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in solution development, program design, engineering, energy, infrastructure, or utility-related environments.

  • Working knowledge of:

  • Solar/DER

  • Solar + battery storage

  • EVs

  • EV charging infrastructure

  • Experience designing large-scale programs or operational solutions.

  • Understanding of clean energy and sustainability concepts.

  • Ability to translate complex technical requirements into practical program solutions.

  • Strong technical communication and documentation skills.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Prefered:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience with U.S. government or utility programs.

  • Experience with state, municipal, or utility procurement.

  • Experience at firms such as Arcadis, WSP, AECOM, Stantec, Black & Veatch, Tetra Tech, ICF, or Guidehouse.

  • Experience supporting proposal pricing or budget development.

  • PMP, CAPM, or CF APMP.
