Magic Media is a pioneering media, entertainment, and tech group powered by creativity and innovation. We have a physical presence in 14 countries and expertise in the areas of art, animation, cybersecurity, game development, software development, VFX, and video production amongst others.
We work with leading developers and publishers within the games and tech industry, providing support and solutions designed around individual needs and carried out by global experts. The ideal candidate will have solid full-time Unity programming experience in games. As a Unity developer, you will build and maintain client features for a cloud-streamed party game played on a TV, with phones acting as controllers, under the guidance of the lead and senior developers.
This includes development, coding, testing, and debugging. You will also estimate your own tasks and write technical documentation.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Implement client features in Unity 6.3 (C#, URP, FMOD) for a cloud-streamed party game, working inside an existing codebase and the client's SDKs. Build gameplay and UI features such as challenge modes, trophy and progression screens, and themed content. Build content authoring tools and add telemetry events.
Integrate audio in FMOD (events and banks) for assets supplied by an audio team. Fix bugs, support client QA through alpha, regression and release, and prepare documentation. 3+ years of experience as a Unity game developer.
Worked on at least one shipped game title. Availability for daily working-hours overlap with Helsinki (EET/EEST). A passion for video games.
Strong skills in Unity and C#. Unity 6 and URP are a plus. Able to take a well-defined feature through to delivery, asking questions early when information is missing.
Familiar with performance bottlenecks and ways to resolve them. Strong debugging skills. Basic understanding of multiplayer concepts and client-server communication.
Willingness to learn FMOD, the client's SDKs and the existing tooling. Good communication skills in English, and good reporting and documentation skills. Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
DESIRABLE PLUSES: Experience with multiplayer, party or casual games. Experience with FMOD or other audio middleware. Experience building game tools or adding analytics and telemetry.
Familiarity with TypeScript or React. Solid technical foundation (e.g. Computer Science / Maths Degree or equivalent).
Permanently remote position. An opportunity to hone and improve your skills by applying them to a diverse variety of engaging projects. Be part of an international group with offices worldwide.
Career growth and development. Working closely with a team of like-minded people in a fast-paced, multicultural environment. Ongoing training and professional self-improvement opportunities.
Flexible working hours. An inclusive culture and open communication. At Magic Media, our passion lies in gaming.
Our vision is to create and deliver engaging and interesting games for our clients. We can deliver this high-quality work on any platform, whether it be on a console, PC, or mobile. We know that reputation and results go hand-in-hand. Therefore, we work hard to find experts and talented creators to deliver the best results.
