Cloud Engineer

You will collaborate closely with the engineering teams to develop, manage and continuously enhance the company’s Microsoft Azure infrastructure across production, staging and development environments.

This is a hands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys tackling infrastructure challenges, introducing automation, strengthening platform reliability and enabling development teams to deploy applications securely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and maintain Azure infrastructure across production, staging and development environments.

• Continuously improve the scalability, availability, reliability and performance of the cloud platform.

• Administer key Azure services, including App Service, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, networking and identity services .

• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment and configuration wherever possible.

• Manage monitoring, logging, alerting and application observability using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics and related technologies.

• Diagnose and resolve issues relating to cloud infrastructure, networking, deployments and system performance .

• Apply cloud security best practices, including RBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, network controls and secrets management .

• Configure and manage VNets, private endpoints, DNS, firewalls and other Azure networking components .

• Identify opportunities to optimise cloud expenditure, resource utilisation and overall platform performance .

• Contribute to incident response activities, including root-cause analysis and the implementation of preventative improvements .

• Ensure the Azure environment remains current by adopting appropriate platform enhancements, security updates and cloud best practices .

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience within cloud engineering, infrastructure, systems engineering or DevOps.

• Proven experience in deploying, configuring and supporting Azure resources .

• Strong working knowledge of core Azure services, including App Service, Virtual Machines, networking, storage and identity .

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines , using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar technologies.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code , using ARM Templates, Bicep or Terraform.

• Solid knowledge of networking concepts, including VNets, subnets, private endpoints, DNS, firewalls and routing .

• Practical experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting and performance optimisation .

• Good understanding of cloud security principles , including access control, secrets management and secure networking.

• Experience supporting production environments and investigating technical incidents.

• A proactive, hands-on and solution-focused approach to technical challenges.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering teams .
