Looking for Philippines-based candidates Job Role: AI Automation Specialist Compensation range: $1,200 AUD - $1,800 AUD / Monthly Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement Work Schedule: This role is expected to require roughly 15-20 hours per week. As a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your schedule, but availability for occasional collaboration during AU business hours is preferred.

Who The Client Is: Our client is a growing Australian accounting and business advisory firm based on the Gold Coast, with client relationships spanning more than 20 years. They provide accounting, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, and advisory services, helping businesses simplify their finances and support long-term growth. The firm has an established team across Australia, the Philippines, and India, and is investing in AI and technology to streamline processes and give its accountants more time to focus on high-value client work.

Role Overview

We’re looking for an AI Automation Builder to help an Australian accounting firm streamline its day-to-day operations through practical AI agents and workflow automations. You’ll work closely with management and the accounting team to identify repetitive and time-consuming processes, build solutions across areas such as timesheets, WIP, billing, client communication, and workload tracking, and ensure they remain accurate and reliable.

Key Responsibilities

Build and implement AI agents and automations for accounting, administrative, and client service processes Automate timesheet recording, tracking, and reminders to improve accuracy and follow-up Build workflows to monitor WIP, identify jobs awaiting information or review, and assist with draft invoice preparation Develop AI-assisted workflows to draft client follow-up emails and responses to information requests for team review Automate ATO correspondence tracking, reminders, and document or information request lists Create automated daily and weekly workload summaries to improve visibility of priorities and outstanding work Connect AI tools and business systems through APIs and integrations Monitor, troubleshoot, and refine workflows to ensure they remain accurate and reliable Document workflows clearly so they are easy for the team to use and maintain Work closely with management and accountants to understand business needs and identify opportunities for improvement Proven experience building and implementing AI agents and business automations in a live environment Hands-on experience with LLM tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot Experience with automation platforms such as Make, Zapier, n8n, or Power Automate Strong understanding of APIs, integrations, structured data, and workflow design Strong research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify practical opportunities for automation Excellent written English and ability to explain technical solutions clearly to non-technical users High attention to detail when working with financial and client data

Nice to Have

Experience with Xero Practice Manager (XPM), Xero, or other accounting practice software Experience supporting an Australian accounting or professional services firm Experience with Microsoft 365 and Outlook automation Familiarity with accounting practice workflows, WIP, billing, timesheets, and client correspondence Work Arrangement & Expectations: This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement. To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to: Be available for meetings and collaboration during core AEST business hours Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
