Role Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager to join our growing team and support our general ledger accounting function. You’ll help manage the month-end close, oversee reconciliations, and own key areas of our financial statements.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership, bringing structure to accounting processes, and partnering with a team in a fast-growing business.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close

  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including the close calendar, checklist, and timely, accurate delivery of results.

  • Prepare and review journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and payroll.

  • Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, and resolve variances promptly.

  • Manage intercompany accounting and multi-currency activity across entities.

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) and flux analysis.

  • Support management, board, and investor reporting.

Audit & Compliance

  • Serve as a key point of contact for the annual financial statement audit, including PBC schedules and supporting documentation.

  • Support tax filings and other compliance work with external advisors.

Process Improvement

  • Shorten and streamline the close through automation, better tooling, and clear documentation.

  • Contribute to finance systems improvements and implementations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting and in-house experience at a high-growth or public company.

  • CPA or equivalent preferred.

  • Proven ownership of the month-end close, GL, and balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and hands-on experience preparing financial statements.

  • Experience supporting external audits.

  • Proficiency with a modern ERP (e.g., NetSuite) and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through, with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • A collaborative, proactive approach and comfort working in a fast-paced environment where processes are still being built.

  • Based in the San Francisco Bay Area or willing to relocate for a hybrid role.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency, and international operations.

  • Exposure to SOX readiness or public-company reporting.

Compensation & Benefits

  • We offer a competitive and thoughtfully structured compensation package designed to align with impact, experience, and long-term growth.

  • Base Salary: The anticipated salary range for this role is $160,000-$200,000 , depending on experience, skills, scope, and location.

  • Bonus: This role is Bonus eligible and may participate in the Company's discretionary annual bonus program.

  • Equity: In addition to cash compensation, employees are eligible to participate in the company’s stock option program and share in Higgsfield’s long-term growth.

  • Benefits: We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees professionally and personally, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a competitive 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, and additional benefits and perks.

  • The opportunity to work on ambitious AI products alongside a highly experienced, fast-moving, and international team.

  • Significant ownership, direct impact, and opportunities for professional growth as the company scales.

This is a hybrid role based in the San Francisco Bay Area . Team members are expected to work from our San Francisco office three full days per week , with the remaining days worked remotely and are expected to be available during agreed working hours and to maintain sufficient overlap with the relevant team’s time zone. We value in-person collaboration, active communication, responsiveness, and close partnership across teams.
