The full posting

At Enable Education, we take learning seriously, but ourselves? Not so much. We’re a fully remote team of creative minds, coffee enthusiasts, and GIF connoisseurs who believe that work should be meaningful and fun, without the corporate grind.

Our mission is to shake up how people teach and learn. We build innovative, hands-on learning experiences that are inclusive, engaging, and anything but boring. From custom simulations to technical training platforms, our work helps organizations actually change how people learn, not just check boxes.

We're looking for an experienced Unity Developer who can bring creative ideas to life, solve tricky technical problems, ship polished interactive experiences and jump into existing projects. Most of this role will support RedT Kids' Media projects, with some Enable Education projects as required.

🎥 Check out who we are!

Why this role is different

Hands on development You won’t spend your days sitting in endless meetings. You’ll be building, troubleshooting, improving, and shipping real interactive experiences.

Flexible, remote first lifestyle Work from anywhere in Canada and shape your day around your life. We operate with core collaboration hours of 10:00 AM–3:00 PM EST , with flexibility outside that window.

Interesting technical challenges Our work goes beyond traditional eLearning. You may work on custom simulations, interactive training applications, platform integrations, and other technology enabled learning experiences.

Small team autonomy You’ll work closely with designers, developers, Learning Experience Designers, and project leads. We value people who can take ownership, make sound technical decisions, and communicate when they see a better way to do something.

What you’ll bring

You’ll thrive in this role if you bring a strong mix of:

  • Technical problem solving - You can dig into unfamiliar code, identify what's happening, and find practical solutions without needing everything mapped out for you.
  • User first thinking - You notice the interaction details that make an experience intuitive, responsive, and engaging.
  • Ownership - You follow problems through to resolution and flag risks, blockers, and tradeoffs early.
  • Collaboration energy - You enjoy working with designers, artists, animators, learning professionals, and developers to turn ideas into working experiences.
  • Detail obsession - You care about performance, usability, clean code, consistency, and polish.

What it's like to work with us

This is a part time, 3 month contract position with the possibility of extension. We anticipate up to 25 hours per week, with additional hours possible as project needs require. Most work will support RedT Kids' Media, with some Enable Education work as needed.

We offer: Flexible scheduling, fully remote work, a supportive team culture, creative, varied projects, opportunities to influence both the technical approach and the finished experience

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain interactive media, prototypes, and applications for RedT Kids' Media using Unity and C#
  • Translate creative concepts, designs, and storyboards into polished Unity experiences
  • Build interaction, UI, state, and data systems using clean, reusable code
  • Implement animation, audio, visual effects, scene flow, input, and other experience driven features
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, animators, and developers to integrate assets and bring experiences to life
  • Work confidently within existing Unity projects and codebases
  • Troubleshoot bugs, interaction issues, performance problems, and build failures
  • Profile and optimize responsiveness, memory use, loading times, frame rate, and stability
  • Support deployment and testing across Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and WebGL as required
  • Use Git/version control and participate in code reviews, QA, and shared development workflows
  • Estimate effort and communicate progress, risks, blockers, and technical constraints clearly
  • Support selected Enable Education simulations, interactive training applications, and other learning experiences
  • Recommend improvements that make products more engaging, reliable, maintainable, and scalable

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of professional experience with Unity including Unity GUI, asset bundles, materials/shaders
  • Experience deploying Unity applications for PC, macOS, Android, iOS and web browsers (WebGL)
  • Strong knowledge of C# and JavaScript programming languages
  • Develop innovative ways to reach the end users using gaming and simulation
  • Maintain and follow test plans to resolve bugs, and enhance applications
  • Strong proficiency in C# and object oriented programming
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, reusable code, design patterns, and maintainable development practices
  • Experience deploying and optimizing Unity applications for Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, or WebGL
  • Ability to confidently troubleshoot and improve an existing codebase
