About Us

We are dedicated to helping uninsured and self-pay patients by negotiating medical bills on their behalf. Through a structured process of investigation, fair price determination, and negotiation, we advocate for patients by leveraging billing expertise, price transparency data, and legal advocacy pathways. Our mission is to ensure patients are treated fairly, free from unjust or inflated medical debt.

Position Overview

The General Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for the strategy, performance, and evolution of our bill negotiation services , where we help patients resolve unreasonable medical bills.

We already have a Patient Advocate Manager responsible for the team, processes, and day-to-day negotiation operations. The General Manager will operate above that layer, owning where bill negotiation is going, how we improve our effectiveness, and what capabilities we need to build next.

We need someone who wakes up every day thinking about how we can become a stronger advocate for patients.

What You'll Own

Strategy & Growth Set our strategic direction and determine how our capabilities should evolve as CrowdHealth grows. Identify opportunities to increase our effectiveness, leverage, and impact.

Negotiation Strategy Develop stronger approaches to difficult negotiations, particularly large balances, non-responsive providers, and cases that have reached an impasse. Use results and data to determine what's working, what's not, and what we should try next.

Legal & External Strategy Partner with attorneys and other experts to develop strategies around medical billing, collections, consumer protections, and patient rights. Build external relationships and partnerships that give us additional tools and leverage.

Business Performance Own bill negotiations overall performance, budget, and resource strategy. Translate operational results into strategic decisions about where we should invest, change course, or build new capabilities.

CrowdHealth Integration Turn what bill negotiation learns from difficult medical bills into insights that improve CrowdHealth's broader cost-control strategy. Identify recurring provider, pricing, and billing patterns that we can address upstream.

  • Difficult and stalled negotiations have stronger escalation strategies.
  • You develops new legal, data, and external capabilities that increase its effectiveness.
  • Your insights actively influence CrowdHealth's broader cost-control strategy.
  • Bill Negotiation scales without requiring resources to grow proportionally with membership.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a strategic operator who is comfortable building where there isn't already a playbook.

You may come from healthcare strategy, medical billing, revenue cycle, cost containment, patient advocacy, legal operations, consulting, or another complex negotiation environment.

You should be able to think several moves ahead, use data to make decisions, build relationships with attorneys and industry experts, understand business economics, and operate with significant autonomy.

Most importantly, you should be energized by the challenge at the center of Bill Negotiations:

How do we give patients more leverage when they're facing an unreasonable medical bill?
