About the Role

This is a builder role for the first CFO at an AI-powered fintech company serving banks and other financial institutions. Reporting to the CEO, you will establish the finance function and partner with company leadership on strategy, pricing, and growth.

What You'll Do

  • Own financial planning, modeling, and forecasting.

  • Analyze deal economics, including interchange, acquiring fees, payment flows, and redemption margins.

  • Help shape pricing and commercial terms with bank and fintech clients.

  • Build relationships with senior client stakeholders and participate in executive meetings and dinners.

  • Develop finance systems and processes using AI tools.

  • Prepare the business for its next stage of growth, including expansion into new markets and evaluation of future capital options.

What We're Looking For

  • Five to eight years of experience in investment banking or private equity, ideally with experience moving into or working in technology.

  • Experience as a finance leader in fintech or payments, with strong financial modeling skills.

  • Knowledge of payments economics, including interchange, acquiring fees, and payment flows.

  • Regular, hands-on use of AI tools in your work.

  • Fluency in both Spanish and English, with strong communication skills and comfort engaging with C-level bank executives.

  • Ability to travel to Costa Rica or Miami one to two times per month.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary ranges from $150,000 to $250,000 USD annually, depending on location. Equity of 1.5% to 2% in stock options is offered. Visa sponsorship information was not provided.

Location

Remote within the Americas, with Miami, Florida, as the primary location. Candidates in Miami, the U.S. East Coast, or Latin America are preferred.
