Bookkeeper (Full-time Remote)

We are looking for a remote, full-time Bookkeeper with a passion for delivering accurate, high-quality bookkeeping and following well-defined processes.

In this exciting role you will join our growing offshore bookkeeping team in the Philippines . You must also have good time management and problem-solving abilities with a positive attitude.

What will you do?

• Full cycle bookkeeping for BrightIron clients in their accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) on an accrual basis.

• Maintain the general ledger for clients in their accounting software.

• Create monthly account reconciliations and continuities for all balance sheet accounts, and select P&L accounts.

• Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement.

• Work Collaboratively and develop and maintain relationship with clients, and BrightIron team members.

• Collaborate with Canadian BrightIron team members to ensure smooth handoffs and minimal rework.

• Follow documented bookkeeping SOPs and flag recurring issues for process improvement.

• Assist with various ad-hoc client requests.

Ideally, you have:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting working with Canadian or US clients.

• Experience using QuickBooks Online and/or Xero and proficient in using Excel.

• Experience working in a client serving accounting role.

• Strong communication skills (written and verbal), including fluency in English.

• High degree of comfort working with different technologies.

• Excellent time management and self-management skills.

• Solid problem solving and analysis skills.

• High standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information.

• Ability to exercise good judgement, show initiative and be proactive.

• Ability to build strong connections with clients and team members.
