Aprio is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join our growing Enterprise Tax team, serving middle-market clients across technology, manufacturing, and distribution industries.

We are looking for someone with experience across corporations, partnerships, flow-through entities, and individual returns. Like variety? This role offers broad exposure to compliance, consulting, multistate tax, and M&A-related projects, allowing you to develop well-rounded technical expertise while working with middle-market businesses ranging from closely held companies to larger, more complex organizations. You'll collaborate closely with tax, assurance, and advisory professionals firmwide, build meaningful client relationships, and gain increasing responsibility as you progress toward Manager and beyond.

Responsibilities:: As a Senior Tax Associate, your typical day may include:

  • Preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns, with a primary focus on partnerships and other flow-through entities
  • Preparing and reviewing federal and state tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S corporations, and individuals
  • Reviewing workpapers, trial balances, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Taking ownership of assigned client engagements and helping drive projects through timely completion
  • Researching tax issues and identifying opportunities to support client objectives and planning strategies
  • Collaborating directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide responsive service
  • Responding to review comments, resolving technical issues, and incorporating feedback efficiently
  • Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback
  • Leveraging tax technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Working closely with Managers, Directors, and Partners to deliver high-quality tax solutions and support client growth initiatives
  • Supporting multistate tax and SALT engagements
  • Assisting with consulting and M&A-related projects

Qualifications::

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 2-5 years of public accounting tax experience
  • Experience preparing tax returns for corporations, partnerships, S corporations, and individuals,
  • Experience reviewing workpapers and responding to review notes
  • Strong accounting fundamentals and understanding of CPA firm operations
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements successfully
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and CPA firm operations
  • Experience working directly with clients and building trusted relationships
  • Comfort working with tax technology, automation tools, and evolving AI-enabled solutions
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both onshore and offshore teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • CPA or EA designation (preferred)
