Job Description
Project – the aim you’ll have Our team collaborates with a leading UK-based insurance company on solutions that help identify and reduce cyber risk. The project focuses on building and evolving a proprietary data platform that processes large volumes of cybersecurity data. It enables scalable data ingestion, high-performance APIs and event-driven data processing, supporting products that help customers proactively manage cyber threats.

Role – how you’ll contribute As a Senior Python Software Engineer , you will play a key role in designing and developing scalable backend solutions for a data-intensive platform. You'll cooperate closely with experienced engineers to build reliable services, shape technical solutions, and contribute to the evolution of the platform and engineering practices.

In this role, you will: Design, develop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python. Build scalable solutions for processing, integrating and transforming large datasets. Contribute to cloud-native architecture, CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.

Collaborate with engineers on system design, data modelling and platform improvements. Improve software quality through code reviews, automated testing and mentoring less experienced developers.

Qualifications

Expectations – the experience you need 5+ years of commercial experience with Python development. Strong experience building backend applications and REST APIs. Solid knowledge of SQL and experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.

Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines. Experience building data-intensive applications or managing large-scale data processing. Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing and clean code principles.

Additional skills – the edge you have Experience with Databricks or modern data platforms. Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (e.g.

Terraform). Comfortable with Linux-based development environments.
