About the Role We're looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to help run accurate, compliant payroll for a workforce of 1,000+ employees across multiple U.S. states and global locations. This organization has completed (or is completing) its move to Workday as the payroll system of record — you'll work primarily in Workday, with strong, current Workday experience a must. What You'll Do Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll across multiple states and global locations in Workday Manage garnishments, wage verifications, and payroll compliance Audit and reconcile PTO accruals, deductions, and related balances Ensure commissions, incentives, and bonuses are paid accurately and on time Own the timekeeping system for hourly employees and run recurring/ad hoc payroll reports Support Workday configuration, testing, data validation, and implementation work Partner with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to continuously improve payroll accuracy and process Mentor teammates through system updates and process changes What You'll Bring 5 years of hands-on payroll experience, including multi-state and international processing Strong, current experience with Workday — this is a must-have for this role right now Advanced Excel skills — VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, complex formulas, reconciliations Working knowledge of payroll tax rules across federal, state, local, and pension contexts Sharp attention to detail and a reconciliation-minded approach to your work Discretion in handling confidential data, and fluent English Nice to Have Workday implementation experience within a global organization Experience acting as a Workday/payroll systems SME Background leading or contributing meaningfully to a Workday implementation project Prior ADP experience (Celergo a plus) — helpful legacy-system context, not required day-to-day Payroll certification What's In It For You Genuine ownership of payroll systems and process improvement, not just execution Direct, cross-functional exposure to HR, Finance, and business leadership A front-row seat (and real input) on a live Workday rollout Opportunity to mentor and shape process as the payroll function scales Ready to bring your payroll and Workday expertise to a growing team?
