The Growth Director leads the development and execution of strategic growth initiatives by connecting market opportunities, client needs, and technical capabilities to drive sustainable revenue growth, expand market presence, strengthen strategic relationships, and advance the organization's technical service offerings. This role assumes responsibility for growth strategy, major client development, commercial leadership, and the integration of technical expertise into business expansion efforts. This role contributes to both Growth and Technical Excellence, with a primary focus on the market, clients, and external opportunities. The role connects technical expertise with client needs and market opportunities to drive growth, strengthen the firm’s reputation, and expand its capabilities. The role also supports the Technical Excellence team by providing expertise, market insight, and leadership on key initiatives and priorities. Growth Owns the execution of growth strategies that drive revenue expansion, market penetration, strategic account growth, and increased adoption of services across targeted sectors, geographies, and practice areas. Leads executive-level client engagement, strategic pursuits, and market-development initiatives, building strong relationships with clients, industry stakeholders, and business partners that strengthen competitive positioning and generate sustainable business growth. Identifies, prioritizes, and acts on emerging market opportunities, client needs, industry trends, and regulatory developments, translating insights into actionable growth plans, investment recommendations, and commercial priorities. Partners closely with Commercial, Technical Directors, Practice Leaders, and People & Delivery leadership to align growth initiatives, client commitments, resource capacity, and organizational capabilities with business objectives and market demand. Drives cross-selling, integrated-service solutions, thought leadership, and market-facing initiatives that enhance brand visibility, strengthen client relationships, expand market share, and increase Practice revenue. Owns growth performance and accountability for key commercial metrics, including pipeline development, win rates, revenue growth, profitability, client expansion, and strategic growth objectives, while guiding Commercial teams to improve execution and business results. Technical Excellence Maintains a strong understanding of the organization's technical capabilities, service offerings, quality standards, and strategic priorities to effectively align client needs with organizational expertise. Partners with Technical Directors and Practice Leaders to identify emerging service opportunities, capability gaps, innovation priorities, and investments that support long-term growth and technical differentiation. Ensures growth initiatives and business commitments are supported by appropriate technical expertise, operational readiness, resource capacity, and delivery capabilities. Facilitates collaboration between commercial and technical leaders to develop integrated solutions, strengthen client value propositions, and position technical expertise as a key market differentiator. Provides market intelligence, client feedback, industry insights, and competitive information that inform technical strategy, service development, innovation efforts, and future capability investments. Promotes technical thought leadership, innovation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration while supporting the commercialization and adoption of new capabilities, methodologies, technologies, and service offerings. People & Delivery Leads collaboration among commercial, technical, operational, and corporate teams to align business development efforts, organizational priorities, and client commitments with successful execution and delivery. Develops, coaches, and supports Growth Managers and commercial professionals while strengthening business development capabilities, commercial effectiveness, and leadership pipelines. Builds strong relationships across practices, disciplines, regions, and functions to improve organizational alignment, accelerate strategic opportunities, and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability. Partners with operational and technical leaders to ensure growth commitments are delivered safely, efficiently, profitably, and in alignment with client expectations. Supports talent acquisition, succession planning, capability development, and resource planning initiatives that strengthen organizational capacity and support long-term growth objectives. Promotes a culture of client focus, continuous improvement, innovation, professionalism, and effective stakeholder communication while ensuring client expectations are successfully transitioned from pursuit through delivery. Required Skills and Abilities Demonstrates accountability for identifying, prioritizing, and converting growth opportunities into measurable business results, leveraging strategic thinking, commercial judgment, and market insight to drive revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term Practice performance. Demonstrates the ability to build and sustain executive-level client and industry relationships that generate new opportunities, strengthen strategic accounts, and influence key business decisions, while effectively communicating complex technical, commercial, and strategic concepts. Demonstrates ownership of commercial performance through strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to evaluate revenue opportunities, profitability drivers, market conditions, competitive intelligence, business risks, and performance metrics to inform strategic actions. Demonstrates the ability to align and influence Technical Excellence, Commercial, People & Delivery, and corporate stakeholders around growth priorities, building consensus and fostering collaboration that advances client objectives and business outcomes. Demonstrates leadership in developing commercial capability and organizational effectiveness, including coaching and mentoring talent, strengthening leadership pipelines, promoting knowledge sharing, and driving continuous improvement across teams and geographies. Demonstrates executive presence, accountability, sound judgment, and execution discipline, with the ability to navigate complex business environments, manage competing priorities, adapt to changing market conditions, and consistently deliver growth commitments and strategic objectives. Required Experience, Education, and Certifications Bachelor's degree required; engineering, science, architecture, construction, business, or a related technical discipline preferred. An advanced degree is preferred. Minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in consulting, engineering, technical services, professional services, business development, or a related industry. Demonstrated success leading strategic growth initiatives, developing growth strategies, and delivering measurable revenue growth, market expansion, and business results. Proven experience building and managing executive-level client relationships, strategic accounts, complex pursuits, proposals, and business development programs. Strong understanding of technical consulting, engineering, forensic, and professional-services business models, with the ability to align market opportunities with organizational capabilities and client needs. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and operational leaders, develop and coach commercial professionals, influence senior stakeholders, and drive results through strong financial acumen, strategic thinking, and leadership within a matrixed organization.
