About the Role
We're hiring for a hands-on Front of House Manager responsible for overseeing the day-to-day Front of House operation at a busy premium boutique fitness studio in West London. The role combines team leadership, shift coordination, member experience, and administration, with approximately 65% of the role focused on Front of House management and 35% dedicated to administrative and operational support. This is a highly visible and hands-on leadership position where you will be the key point of contact for the Front of House team, taking ownership of scheduling, holiday cover, shift swaps, team support, and day-to-day operational issues. You'll also spend around 15–20 hours per week working directly on the Front Desk, ensuring members receive a consistently warm, professional, and welcoming experience.
The Company
A premium boutique fitness and wellness business committed to delivering exceptional training, community, and member experiences. The studio provides a high-quality, welcoming environment where every interaction matters. The business values proactive leadership, strong operational standards, and creating a positive experience for both members and employees.
The Basics
- Salary: £32,000 per annum
- Location: West London
- Working hours: 40 hours per week, with shifts scheduled across the studio's operating hours. This includes early mornings, late finishes, and weekend shifts as part of a rota. Shifts can start as early as 5:30am and finish as late as 9:30pm, so candidates must be able to travel to and from the studio at these times.
- Holiday: 28 days per annum, including bank holidays
- Benefits: Complimentary access to fitness classes during off-peak times, alongside the opportunity to work within a premium fitness and wellness environment and be part of a strong studio community.
- Reporting to: Operations Manager
The Role
The Front of House Manager will take ownership of the day-to-day FOH operation, leading a team of part-time Front of House staff and ensuring the studio is consistently well covered and operating smoothly. You'll combine hands-on member-facing work with team management, scheduling, and administrative responsibilities.
- Lead, support, and develop the Front of House team, creating clear expectations around service, professionalism, presentation, and performance.
- Manage the FOH rota, including shift scheduling, holiday planning, shift swaps, and identifying and resolving gaps in coverage.
- Act as the key point of contact for the FOH team, providing support and resolving day-to-day operational questions and issues.
- Work approximately 15–20 hours per week on the Front Desk, providing hands-on cover and ensuring members receive an exceptional experience.
- Ensure the studio is appropriately staffed across mornings, mid-days, evenings, and weekends.
- Build strong relationships with members, ensuring they feel welcomed, recognised, and supported throughout their experience.
- Handle member questions, feedback, and issues confidently and professionally, escalating where appropriate.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, organisation, and service across all Front of House areas.
- Oversee opening, closing, and daily FOH procedures to ensure the studio operates smoothly.
- Support administrative tasks including email triage and client account management.
- Complete relevant client account updates, including membership changes, managing arrears, and merging duplicate client profiles.
- Use Mindbody to complete relevant Front of House and client administration tasks.
- Support limited retail activity, including merchandise and water sales, ensuring products are well presented and available.
- Take ownership of operational issues and act as the first point of contact for urgent day-to-day matters.
- Support deliveries, contracts, and other operational requirements as needed.
- Work closely with the wider management team to maintain high operational standards and continuously improve the member experience.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve team efficiency, studio coverage, and the overall Front of House operation.
