Role Overview We are seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale large-scale distributed systems supporting enterprise fulfillment platforms. This is a highly hands-on engineering role focused on Node.js , TypeScript, Azure, microservices, and distributed systems. The ideal candidate will have recent production experience building and operating resilient cloud-native backend systems and be comfortable with scalability, reliability, messaging, observability, failure handling, and production support. Must-Have Qualifications 8–10+ years of professional software engineering experience Strong, recent Node.js backend development Strong TypeScript development experience Experience designing and developing large-scale distributed systems Meaningful, recent Microsoft Azure experience Strong REST API development experience Experience with microservices/service-oriented architectures Experience with asynchronous and event-driven architectures Strong understanding of distributed-system concepts: Scalability High availability Fault tolerance Idempotency Retry strategies Eventual consistency Service-to-service communication Failure recovery Strong Docker and Kubernetes experience Experience writing clean, maintainable, well-tested production code Production application troubleshooting and support experience Strong understanding of reliability, resilience, and observability Ability to make engineering decisions within established architecture Strong communication and collaboration skills
