Freelance BI & Automation Specialist

About the role This is a freelance, on-demand role focused on designing and delivering tools for internal Business Intelligence and Operations. You’ll work directly with the Operations Director , who will define the business need. Your job will be to translate that into clean structures, working dashboards, and automated workflows — and then hand them over for internal maintenance. You won’t be involved in day-to-day operations or ongoing upkeep; instead, you’ll support us through discrete, well-scoped assignments requiring precision, data security, and technical autonomy. Use of AI to speed up development (e.g., for scripts, transformations, documentation) is welcome but not required . Responsibilities Design and build operational dashboards (Looker Studio / G-Suite ecosystem) Structure data sources for reporting (Sheets models, imports, transformations) Create lightweight automations using AppScript, Google Workspace integrations, Zapier, and similar tools Support integrations between tools (HubSpot, Atlassian, Slack, Google Workspace; nice to have: Productive) Prepare clear documentation to hand over solutions to internal teams Ensure high standards of data security, access control, and compliance Provide technical consultation on best practices in data architecture and BI tooling Requirements Strong experience with Google Workspace tools , including Google Sheets (advanced formulas, queries, pivots) and AppScript Proficiency in building dashboards in Looker Studio Experience with automation platforms (Zapier or equivalents) Ability to independently translate business needs into working data/dashboards/automations Experience integrating SaaS tools (HubSpot, Atlassian, Slack, etc.) Strong sense of data privacy, security, and compliance Excellent organisational skills and reliability in remote/async collaboration Very good English (spoken and written) Nice to have: Experience with Productive Familiarity with BI pipelines, data modelling, or more advanced analytics Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate development and documentation What we offer Fully remote, flexible hourly freelance collaboration Clear, well-defined assignments with fast decision cycles Work inside a modern digital organisation with a clean cloud-based stack Direct collaboration with senior leadership (Operations Director) A transparent, respectful, security-first working environment Opportunity to influence how our internal BI and operational tooling evolves Who are we?
