Job Summary
Pay Rate (hourly): $75–$100 (based on experience)
 
Architect, design, and deliver end-to-end ServiceNow solutions that meet complex business needs and requirements. As a senior technical leader, drive platform architecture, enterprise integrations, process automation, and CMDB/CSDM implementation while collaborating with clients to build a robust, scalable, and governed ServiceNow platform that complies with industry standards, leading practices, and regulatory requirements.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the senior technical authority responsible for the architecture, design, development, and core configuration of ServiceNow capabilities/functionalities (e.g., modules, workflows, automation, and integration with other enterprise applications) to align with specific business requirements, processes, and organizational goals.
  • Design and build enterprise integrations between ServiceNow and third-party systems using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP web services, APIs, MID Server, Import Sets, and Transform Maps to enable reliable, bi-directional data flow across the enterprise.
  • Architect and implement process automation using Flow Designer, Workflow, Business Rules, Orchestration, and scripting to streamline service delivery and reduce manual effort.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and operationalization of the CMDB aligned to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), including Discovery, Service Mapping, the Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE), CI class modeling, data governance, and CMDB health remediation.
  • Establish and enforce technical governance, coding standards, and platform leading practices to maximize supportability, maintainability, upgradability, and minimize technical debt.
  • Provide technical mentorship and code reviews to junior developers and administrators, guiding release, instance, and source control (update sets/application repositories) strategy.
  • Conduct thorough testing/validation to ensure the solutions and customizations implemented function as designed.
  • Prepare proposals with detailed cost estimates and implementation timelines.
  • Identify areas for improvement and optimize existing ServiceNow solutions to enhance performance and user experience.
  • Work closely with the client's stakeholders, leadership, and support teams to understand needs and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Document all development efforts and system configuration.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of best practices for ServiceNow solutions.
  • Provide training and support to end-users to ensure successful adoption and utilization of ServiceNow.
  • Assist with training end-users and support teams.
Key Skills:
  • Expert-level proficiency across the ServiceNow platform and its core modules: ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, Discovery, Service Mapping, CMDB/CSDM, and SPM.
  • Strong architecture and solution-design skills, including data modeling, platform/instance strategy, and translating business requirements into scalable, governed ServiceNow solutions.
  • Advanced integration expertise with IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, web services, MID Server, Import Sets, and Transform Maps.
  • Automation proficiency with Flow Designer, Workflow, Orchestration, Business Rules, and Script Includes, plus strong client-side and server-side JavaScript scripting.
  • Hands-on CMDB/CSDM implementation experience, including Discovery, Service Mapping, IRE, CI class modeling, data governance, and CMDB health management.
  • Excellent communication, written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Strong service orientation, interpersonal skills, and a professional image of discipline.
  • Communicates and interacts with customers in a constructive and supportive manner.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to meeting deliverables and deadlines through high-quality technical solutions, support, and service.

Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience architecting, designing, customizing, configuring, scripting, and integrating (API/web services) within the ServiceNow platform, including at least 3 years as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) translating business requirements into ServiceNow platform capabilities.
  • Required ServiceNow Certifications: Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD).
  • Certified Implementation Specialist – Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM) (CIS-DF), given the emphasis on CMDB implementation and governance.
  • At least two Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) discipline certifications (e.g., CIS-ITSM, CIS-Discovery, CIS-Service Mapping, or CIS-ITOM).
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field and/or equivalent work experience.
  • ITIL certification or deep knowledge of ITIL framework and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Technical Architect (CTA) and Architecture Excellence (ArchX) accreditation, or actively working toward the CTA program (CSA, CAD, and two CIS disciplines are prerequisites).
