Position Summary

The Epic Professional Billing (PB) Analyst is responsible for the design, build, implementation, optimization, and support of the Epic Professional Billing application. This role partners with revenue cycle, clinical, and operational stakeholders to ensure accurate charge capture, billing workflows, reimbursement integrity, and regulatory compliance. The PB Analyst serves as a subject matter expert and works collaboratively to enhance system functionality and improve revenue cycle performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the build, configuration, testing, and maintenance of Epic Professional Billing (Resolute PB).

  • Analyze current billing workflows and translate operational needs into system design and enhancements.

  • Support charge capture, claims processing, payment posting, edits, denials management, and reporting workflows.

  • Collaborate with Revenue Cycle leadership, coding teams, and front-end staff to improve billing accuracy and reimbursement outcomes.

  • Participate in system upgrades, optimizations, and integrated testing efforts.

  • Troubleshoot application issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Maintain system documentation including build specifications, workflows, and testing scripts.

  • Provide go-live, post-live, and ongoing production support.

  • Ensure compliance with CMS guidelines, payer regulations, and organizational billing policies.

  • Support reporting and data validation efforts to ensure financial integrity and accuracy.

 
 

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Epic Resolute Professional Billing (PB) Certification (active and in good standing).

  • 3+ years of Epic PB build and support experience.

  • Strong understanding of professional billing workflows, charge capture, coding, claims processing, and reimbursement.

  • Experience supporting revenue cycle operations in hospital or ambulatory settings.

  • Ability to gather requirements, conduct workflow analysis, and translate into system solutions.

  • Experience with integrated testing, system upgrades, and change management processes.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with integrated Epic applications (Prelude, Cadence, HIM, Charge Router, Claim Edit, Contracts).

  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding structures.

  • Experience with reporting tools (Reporting Workbench, Radar, Clarity, Caboodle).

  • Revenue cycle operational background.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare IT, Business, Finance, or related field.
