Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Conversion Analyst to provide staff augmentation and subject matter expertise for a large-scale healthcare technology initiative. This individual will support data conversion activities throughout the project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data analysis, mapping, transformation, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and implementation support.

The ideal candidate has experience working with complex healthcare data, legacy systems, and electronic health record platforms. Epic data conversion experience is strongly preferred.

This engagement is expected to last approximately 14 to 18 months and is fully remote.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support data conversion activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Gather and document business, technical, and data conversion requirements.
  • Analyze legacy data sources and support data extraction, transformation, mapping, cleansing, and loading activities.
  • Develop and maintain source-to-target data mapping documentation.
  • Identify data quality issues, conversion risks, dependencies, and remediation needs.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and subject matter experts to validate conversion requirements.
  • Perform unit, integration, regression, end-to-end, and data validation testing.
  • Reconcile converted data to confirm accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Document, track, troubleshoot, and resolve data conversion defects.
  • Support mock conversions, testing cycles, go-live readiness, cutover activities, and post-go-live stabilization.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, workflow diagrams, test scripts, validation reports, and status updates.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, issues, and dependencies to project leadership.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and recommend healthcare data conversion best practices.
  • Support knowledge transfer and provide guidance to project team members as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, healthcare informatics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting data conversion, data migration, system integration, or healthcare technology projects.
  • Experience analyzing, mapping, transforming, validating, and reconciling complex data.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
  • Knowledge of data exchange and conversion concepts within healthcare environments.
  • Experience supporting testing, defect management, implementation, and production stabilization activities.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote consulting or staff augmentation environment. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Epic data conversion or implementation projects.
  • Familiarity with Epic Bridges, interfaces, or other Epic integration technologies.
  • Experience with CCD or C-CDA conversion processes.
  • Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, APIs, flat files, and other healthcare data exchange methods.
  • Experience working with clinical, patient access, revenue cycle, financial, or operational healthcare data.
  • Experience with interface engines, SQL, ETL processes, data conversion tools, or data validation tools.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience supporting large-scale electronic health record implementations.
  • Experience working within a public-sector healthcare environment
