About Dataro: Dataro is an ethically minded SaaS startup using machine learning to help not-for-profits raise more money and do more good. Our platform powers fundraising for organizations across the world, helping them run smarter campaigns and improve donor engagement using data-driven insights. Every day we ingest and process hundreds of millions of records from a wide range of fundraising and CRM systems. This data underpins our predictive modeling and analytics products. As we expand in the United States, we're looking for an exceptional engineer who is also an excellent communicator - someone who can work directly with customers, solve technical problems end-to-end, and act as the bridge between clients and our Sydney-based engineering team. Why this role exists: Dataro is an ethically minded SaaS startup using machine learning to help not-for-profits raise more money and do more good. Our platform powers fundraising for organisations around the world, helping them run smarter campaigns and build better relationships with their donors. Every day we ingest and process hundreds of millions of records from a wide range of fundraising and CRM systems. That data underpins everything we do. Onboarding is where that starts. You're the first technical person a customer works with, and the work you do sets up everything that follows. You'll set the priorities, take on the most important integrations yourself, and build the tooling and process that makes each onboarding faster than the last. What you will work on: Owning the onboarding queue. You'll triage what comes in each day and set priority across it, deciding who picks up what. You'll own the onboarding work space and keep it accurate enough that the rest of the business can plan around it. Customer integrations and pipelines. You'll sit with customers to understand their CRM, their data structures, and how their fundraising team actually works, then write the Python and SQL that turns CRM ingestions into something our models can use. You'll also find the repeated manual work and have the freedom to automate it. Process and people. You'll run technical calls with customers and explain constraints to people who aren't engineers. You'll keep CSMs across where things stand and flag risk early. And you'll document how onboarding works, teach it across the company, and get new team members up to speed on it. What you'll bring: 5+ years in a customer-facing technical role: solutions engineering, implementation, technical support, or data consulting An AI native skillset. You love building with AI and can prove it! Strong SQL, with real comfort in large datasets Confident Python for data work, automation, and scripting Confidence with APIs: authenticating, paging through results, and debugging a failing integration from the logs Working knowledge of AWS and Git Excellent communication, and comfort leading technical customer calls and managing expectations Good judgement about priority: you can look at a queue of competing work, decide what matters most, and explain why Ability to work independently with limited oversight Why You'll Love Working With Us High-impact role: you are the key technical representative for Dataro in the US market Blend of engineering, problem-solving, and meaningful client interaction Work on socially impactful technology that helps charities raise more money Modern data stack (Python, Serverless AWS, Postgres, DuckDB, S3, Athena, etc.) Strong support from a highly capable engineering team in Sydney - with autonomy and ownership locally We value smart engineers who use modern AI tools to accelerate development, troubleshooting, and communication Flexible work arrangements Benefits Fully covered "silver" tier healthcare plan (with medical/dental/optical) 401k plan, matched up to 5% 4 weeks paid leave (with additional leave if moving house, having a baby, etc, subject to our internal policies) 10 days paid sick leave Professional development budget for courses, mentoring or conferences and additional home office budget Additional Paid Volunteering Leave to give back to the causes that matter to you Working Hours Our customers are US-based, but our engineering headquarters is in Sydney, Australia. You may need to occasionally work flexible hours (generally, later start and finish) to collaborate effectively across both time zones. If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. Apply here.
