About the Role
Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Engagement: Act as a peer to CTOs and VP-level engineering leaders to navigate the evolving AI landscape.
Solution Direction: Partner with Field Engineers to design enterprise-wide AI adoption strategies, framing problems without getting bogged down in hands-on implementation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the voice of the customer externally, feeding high-level insights and challenges back into Cursor's internal product and go-to-market teams.
Technical Strategy: Lead architectural conversations around evaluating Cursor at a systems level, tailoring narratives to different customer technology stacks.
Requirements & Background
Leadership Experience: Usually requires prior experience as an engineering leader, principal architect, or platform leader in complex organizations.
Technical Fluency: Deep understanding of modern engineering organization structures, developer productivity challenges, and AI/LLM tooling.
Communication Skills: Exceptional external-facing executive presence, with the ability to connect technical capabilities directly to business and organizational impact.
Startup Mentality: Cursor emphasizes a flat, talent-dense organization. Ideal candidates are truth-seeking, creative, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced setting.
