Bank Healthcare Technician Location: Bowcliffe Hall, LS23 Contract Type: Bank We are recruiting on behalf of a leading private eye care provider for a Bank Healthcare Technician in Bowcliffe Hall, LS23 . This is a bank role offering flexible shifts within a modern, patient-focused ophthalmology clinic and paying up to £16/hr depending on experience. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Assistant or Healthcare Technician who is looking to develop within specialist eye care. You will work alongside an experienced multi-disciplinary team, supporting high-quality patient care across diagnostics, theatre support, pre-assessment and post-operative pathways. Job Purpose As part of the clinical team, you will support patients throughout their eye care journey, including diagnostic testing, pre-assessment, surgery days and post-operative care. The role is based within a specialist ophthalmology setting, supporting patients across areas such as cataract surgery, glaucoma, refractive treatment and medical retina. Clinical Duties Support the delivery of high-quality patient care throughout the patient journey Carry out or assist with ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as OCT, Visual Fields, VA, IOP and Biometry Support patients before and after procedures Assist clinical teams with room preparation, equipment and documentation Maintain accurate patient records Follow infection prevention, safety and clinical governance procedures Provide a calm, professional and caring experience for patients What We’re Looking For Previous experience as an optical assistant, surgical assistant, or hospital healthcare technician/assistant A valid UK driving licence and access to your own transport are desirable due to the location A minimum of 1 year's experience in a hospital, clinic, theatre, outpatient or healthcare setting Ophthalmology experience would be an advantage but is not essential Basic Life Support competency Good IT and communication skills A caring, organised and professional approach Flexibility to work bank shifts when required This is a great opportunity to join a specialist private healthcare environment and develop experience within ophthalmology.
