About the Role
CTG is seeking a Software Developer to design and lead scalable, secure, mission-driven technical solutions supporting federal modernization initiatives. This role focuses on end-to-end solution architecture across applications, integrations, cloud environments, APIs, and enterprise systems while partnering closely with engineering, product, infrastructure, and delivery teams.
You Will Get To
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software applications and services
- Translate business and product requirements into reliable, maintainable solutions
- Build backend services and APIs using Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, and OpenJDK
- Develop and integrate REST and GraphQL APIs
- Work with MySQL and PostgreSQL and implement application integrations and data flows
- Collaborate with engineering, DevSecOps, infrastructure, and product teams to deliver software
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues across development, testing, and production environments
- Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code reviews and technical discussions
- Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, cloud adoption, and application modernization
- Apply secure coding practices and support performance, scalability, and maintainability
- Document technical solutions and development processes
Who You Are
- A hands-on software developer who enjoys solving technical problems and building reliable applications
- Strong in backend development, API development, application integration, and distributed systems
- Comfortable with modern development frameworks, databases, and cloud technologies
- A collaborative, proactive problem-solver who values clean, maintainable code
- Adaptable and comfortable working in an agile development environmen
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of professional experience in software development
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, and OpenJDK
- Experience with REST and GraphQL APIs, MySQL, and PostgreSQL
- Understanding of software development principles, microservices, and distributed systems
- Experience with version control, testing, debugging, code reviews, and CI/CD
- Experience with AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with DevSecOps, secure coding, and modern software delivery practices
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Nice to Have
- Experience with Angular, React, TypeScript, or JavaScript
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, serverless, or cloud-native development
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture, Zero Trust, or IAM integrations
- Experience supporting federal government agencies
Salary
We are committed to offering a competitive salary for this position, with an estimated range of $75k–$110k annually. Please note that this range is intended to provide a general idea of what to expect. The final offer may vary based on experience, skills, and other factors.
