Bungie is seeking a contract Producer to support the development of Marathon. This role will partner closely with creative, technical, and production leaders to establish clear plans, coordinate execution, manage risks and dependencies, and help the team deliver high-quality player experiences on time and within budget.
The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, tenacious, and empathetic. They are comfortable operating in ambiguity, creating alignment among passionate teams, and finding practical ways to improve communication, visibility, and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Drive production for an assigned team of Marathon, ensuring goals, scope, schedules, and deliverables remain clear and achievable.
- Build and maintain production plans, milestone plans, backlogs, schedules, and status reporting in partnership with discipline and experience leads.
- Facilitate communication, collaboration, and decision-making across disciplines, teams, and stakeholders.
- Track progress against project schedules, budgets, staffing assumptions, and release or milestone commitments.
- Identify risks, uncertainties, blockers, and cross-team dependencies; create mitigation plans and escalate issues when leadership alignment is required.
- Maintain a clear plan of record and communicate changes, decisions, tradeoffs, and areas of concern in a timely manner.
- Coordinate planning meetings, team rituals, reviews, and working sessions; ensure the right participants are included and action items are completed.
- Partner with creative and technical leaders to build consensus, resolve conflicts, and keep work moving toward shared goals.
- Support content and feature evaluation by helping teams establish meaningful goals, measures, checkpoints, and feedback loops.
- Maintain healthy, well-understood production workflows and continuously improve processes to increase team velocity, collaboration, and visibility.
- Use automation, systemization, and centralized information where they can reduce operational overhead and improve decision-making.
- Work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt production practices to the needs of the team and project.
- Follow Bungie and Marathon policies, security requirements, and working agreements appropriate to a CSG role.
Required Qualifications
- Professional experience in game production, project management, or a comparable role supporting complex creative and technical work.
- Experience partnering with multidisciplinary teams, including creative, design, engineering, art, test, or user research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex information and create alignment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems, simplify ambiguity, and drive practical solutions.
- Excellent organization and attention to detail, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to resolve misalignment constructively.
- Ability to remain focused, composed, and results-oriented under pressure.
- Ability to self-motivate, build trust, and motivate others without relying on formal authority.
- Experience using project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Miro, or equivalent platforms.
- Ability to work within confidentiality, information security, and non-disclosure requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience producing internal development for a AAA game or other large-scale interactive entertainment product.
- Experience completing at least one full game-development cycle or multiple complex production cycles.
- Experience supporting multiplayer, live-service, extraction, survival, or systems-driven games.
- Familiarity with complex, multidisciplinary content pipelines and game-development workflows.
- Experience working with external partners, vendors, or distributed development teams.
- Deep familiarity with Jira workflows, dashboards, reporting, and backlog management.
- Passion for games and a strong interest in Marathon’s player experience.
