About the Role
The company builds software technology for government agencies. We're looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) to make outbound calls to government prospects, briefly introduce Ordinal and our product, and book product demos for our sales team.
Key Responsibilities
- Make outbound cold calls to government prospects (leads provided by Ordinal — no prospecting required)
- Briefly introduce Ordinal and its product to gauge interest
- Qualify prospects and book product demos for the sales team to run
- Hit call volume targets of roughly 30–40 calls per hour
- Log call activity and outcomes accurately in JustCall and HubSpot
Requirements
- Prior experience in outbound sales, cold calling, or a BDR/SDR role
- Strong, clear English phone communication skills
- Persistent and resilient — comfortable with a high volume of rejection (target booking rate is roughly 1–2%)
- Able to work Central Time business hours, Monday–Friday
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet calling environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with JustCall and/or HubSpot (not required — training provided)
- Experience selling into government or B2G accounts
