Position Summary

This is a 1099 independent contractor opportunity for experienced Independent Freight Agents operating under Ascent’s brokerage authority.

Key Responsibilities

• Build customer relationships and secure freight opportunities
• Source and qualify carriers using Ascent’s systems and tools
• Negotiate rates and handle required shipment documentation
• Manage shipments through the full lifecycle from booking to delivery
• Resolve service issues through proactive communication
• Maintain accurate system records and follow company compliance standards

What You’ll Bring

• Active, transferable book of business required
• Must reside and operate in the United States
• Strong knowledge of carrier operations, dispatching, and rate negotiation
• Experience with TMS platforms and load boards such as DAT and Truckstop
