About 1KOMMA5°

At 1KOMMA5°, we pursue a vision: Living on wind and sunlight forever for free. To achieve this, we are building the energy system of the future with Heartbeat AI. Are you in? We combine regional craftsmanship and scalable software: we don't think about solar, storage, heat pumps, and e-mobility individually, but control them as an intelligent, integrated overall system in our virtual power plant. Directly connected to the electricity market – in real-time, fully automated. This way, energy is used when it is renewably available and particularly cheap. By 2030, we aim to convert 1.5 million households to renewable energy. Over 3,000 people work on this every day at more than 80 locations worldwide, from Finland to Australia. Do you want to take responsibility and build solutions that truly matter? Apply now and help us shape the energy world of tomorrow.

Your Position

As Category Manager for B and C parts, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of product groups that form the backbone of our installation capacities: substructures as well as B and C parts for PV systems, battery storage, and heat pumps. You understand that these parts, despite their seemingly low individual value, have a significant impact on costs, quality, and installation speed in total. You proactively think in terms of cost-down potentials, independently identify savings levers, and drive corresponding initiatives – in close coordination with our locations – in a structured manner. Your goal is to create sustainable added value for 1KOMMA5° through a clear category strategy and structured supplier development – in an environment that is growing rapidly and requires clear decisions.

Strategic Purchasing & Category Ownership

  • End-to-end responsibility for the product groups substructures (mounting systems, rails, fastening materials) as well as B and C parts for the installation of PV systems, battery storage, and heat pumps.
  • Development and implementation of a clear category strategy with the aim of sustainably optimizing costs, quality, and availability.
  • Building and further developing a resilient, competitive supplier network.
  • Conducting tenders (RFQ/RFP) as well as price negotiations and independently identifying and implementing cost-down initiatives in coordination with the locations.

Operational Purchasing & Supplier Management

  • Management and development of existing supplier relationships, including performance monitoring.
  • Ensuring supply capability and quality in a rapidly growing installation environment.
  • Close cooperation with SCM, installation operations, and regional locations for demand planning and prioritization.

Process & Project Management

  • Conducting potential analyses to identify cost reduction levers in the responsible product groups.
  • Building scalable purchasing processes for a growing environment.
  • Managing product groups using KPIs and data-driven reporting.
  • Standardizing workflows in ERP and procurement systems.
  • Active knowledge transfer and promotion of best practices within the team.

Your Profile

  • Completed degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain management, or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of experience in strategic purchasing or category management.
  • Technical understanding of products, manufacturing processes, and cost structures in the area of installation materials or comparable product groups.
  • Experience in conducting tenders (RFQ/RFP) as well as in managing complex price negotiations.
  • Proven success in identifying and implementing cost-down initiatives.
  • Highly data-driven and analytical approach with a strong understanding of cost structures and market mechanisms.
  • Structured, self-reliant work style in a dynamic, fast-growing environment.
  • Strong communication and assertiveness skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with ERP systems and modern procurement tools.
  • Fluent German and English language skills (C level).
